RUNNERS UP
11 Invincible #61
The first appearance of Conquest has been a hot book since it was announced Invincible would be receiving an adaptation. Thus far, Season 3 has been doing work, but we haven’t even seen Conquest yet. Once that epic series of moments hits the screen, more eyes will be drawn to this book. We tracked nine copies sold, with a 7-day growth trend of 7%, a high sale of $442 for a CGC 9.8 copy, and a current raw NM FMV of $114.
12 Hulk #1 – Ed McGuinness – Regular
Despite less-than-stellar hype, fans are still seeing Captain America: Brave New World. Most are walking away from it, having enjoyed Harrison Ford’s turn as Red Hulk. The conversation has shifted, however, to how they will utilize the character in the future. Sentiment is optimistic, and fans have been steadily picking up the first appearance of Red Hulk as the outlook appears hopeful he will return. We tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 11%, with a high sale of $213 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $50.
13 Daredevil Vol.1 #227
Daredevil: Born Again is just about here, and the hype train is running at full speed, evidenced by the new record-setting sale of the Mark Jewelers variant for this book! Fans are pumped for the series and the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil. The fact they’re adapting one of the most influential and popular Daredevil stories certainly helps. That all got started right here in this book when the Born Again storyline began. We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 17%, with a high sale of $200 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $18.
14 Gunslinger Spawn #18 – Mark Spears – Regular
It’s the name you have seen everywhere lately, but Mark Spears has been killing it! This book was a major driving factor, as fans got a peak at his style for this cover of Gunslinger Spawn. It was a preview of what was to come, with his style lending itself to the horror genre well. As his popularity has risen, so have sales for this book as fans backtrack to add it to their collection. We tracked nine copies sold, with a 7-day growth trend of 5%, a high sale of $25 for a Raw NM copy, and a current raw NM FMV of $19.
15 Mark Spears Monsters #3 – Mark Spears – KRS / East Side Comics / Comic Mint – Jaws Virgin (Limited 450)
Something Mark Spears and Co have done well is have layered homages with their variants. This book is a prime example. As part of the Monsters run, these covers feature horror-centric themes. Well, it doesn’t get much more horrific than a giant shark potentially taking a chomp out of your legs. Thanks to Jaws, that was a fear a majority have had at one point in their lives. This homage nails the sentiment and has been a cover collector’s favorite for a while. We tracked six copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 4%, with a high sale of $140 for a Raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $124
16 Absolute Batman #1 – Nick Dragotta – Regular
This book has finally cooled off some after dominating these lists for months. The movement has solidified, and pricing has leveled out, but that hasn’t stopped collectors from aiming to acquire this first issue of the hottest Batman title in years. There were a lot of apprehensions before this series debuted, but that has dissipated for the most part with each subsequent issue release. We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7%, with a high sale of $120 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $31.
17 Moon Knight Vol.1 #1
This book marks the first ongoing title for Moon Knight and the first appearance of Khonshu. When the Disney+ series was released, this book was on an absolute tear. But, after its conclusion, fans moved away from it, as there was no indication we would see Oscar Isaacs Mark Spector on the screen again. Recently, it was confirmed we would see him down the line at some point, but there is a lot of unknown between now and when that day comes. Still, collectors are starting to pick up copies of this book should that come to pass. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 24%, with a high sale of $125 for a CGC 9.6 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $30.
18 Venom: Lethal Protector Vol.1 #1 – Regular
Marvel and Venom are cooking, with fans consistently picking up the slew of Venom books week after week. That fandom was born from somewhere, and for a large chunk, that began right here. This book marked Venom’s first solo outing and fit right in with the times as a foil cover. His first appearance is out of reach for many, and this is a solid runner-up book. It also was the first appearance of General Orwell Taylor, who recently appeared in Venom 3, adding to the reasons why we’ve seen this book become a mainstay of these lists over the years. We tracked 31 copies sold, with a 7-day growth trend of 16%, a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8 copy, and a current raw NM FMV of $22.
19 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
This book will routinely pop up on this list, thanks to multiple factors. It’s not the first appearance of Spawn, but it is the jumping-in point for the majority of Spawn fans. It’s also one heavily printed book, with nearly every collector having one of these books in their personal collection. Spawn is the aftermarket king, and he continues that trend. We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16%, with a high sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $28
20 Radiant Black #31 – Marcello Costa – Foil (1:25)
Radiant Black has quietly been putting together quite a run. It’s developed a serious following, so when influential books hit the LCS, they take notice. This book marked the introduction of a new villain, Jaeger, who promises to have a heavy influence on the book moving forward. Some collectors wanted to secure the highest ratio variant possible, picking up this stellar 1:25 foil variant. We tracked nine copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 50%, with a high sale of $38 for a RAW NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $30
