RUNNERS UP

11 Action Comics #645 – Direct Sales
This book popped up on fans’ radar a few months ago after the release of Superman and amid the buildup to Supergirl. Mostly, because it features the first appearance of Maxima, a ruler of a planet who must help jump-start the re-population process, or the planet is done for. Superman looks like a likely candidate in her eyes! Naturally, after Superman dropped, fans were quick to theorize what would come in the sequel. Quickly, they identified this book as one to keep an eye on. They may have been on to something, as the rumor mill is turning quickly regarding Maxima showing up in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, with casting already underway. As of this writing, there was no firm confirmation that Maxima will appear, but the rumors are really ramping up! We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $26 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $19.

12 The Walking Dead Deluxe #132 – David Finch & Dave McCaig – Invincible Team Up
nvincible month! To celebrate the stunning return of Invincible, we got a whole month of crossovers amongst Image titles featuring characters from the Invincible roster. This book is notable, as it features Negan and Conquest sharing a cover. Both Robert Kirkman creations, and both voiced/played by the stellar Jeffrey Dean Morgan! Looks like Conquest isn’t so lonely after all! We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $25 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $21.

13 DC/Marvel: Superman/Spider-Man #1 – Gabriele Dell’Otto – Superman & Spider-Man Black Suits
Fans fondly remember the “black suit era” of both Spider-Man and Superman. Spider-Man, more so, but still, both are epic. Gabriele Dell’Otto, Spider-Man variant extraordinaire, pulled out the stops with this one, delivering both in their black suits, aura farming in the dark. It’s a hell of a way to attract eyes to this crossover, and it appears it succeeded if the aftermarket is to be believed. We tracked 58 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 13% with a high sale of $25 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $28.

14 Absolute Wonder Woman #17 – Kyuyong Eom – 2026 C2E2 – ComicXposure / KRS / ComicTom101 / Davis Rider – Unmasked Virgin (Limited 999)
Zatanna isn’t the most well-known character, but dang, does she have her fans! They struck on this book, securing a killer limited variant while at C2E2 from the talented Kyuyong Eom. It’s a little darker than the Nakayama Zatanna cover variants shared with this book, and that might be what drew fans in. Absolute Zatanna is here! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 18% with a high sale of $50 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $64.

15 If Destruction Be Our Lot #Ashcan – Retailer Preview
This title hasn’t even been released yet, and it’s been developing a solid hype base around it. Part of that is the premise circulating online, and the other is the covers. This ashcan is incredible, with a serene, uncanny valley feeling that’s hard to put a finger on. Considering the Comicspro variant is climbing in price like crazy, this is a solid fallback option for collectors aiming to get in before it hits the shelves at their LCS. We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 16% with a high sale of $20 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $12.

16 Star Wars: Shadow Of Maul #2 – Ken Lashley (1:25)
Darth Maul might have been the coolest thing to come out in 1999. Heck, he’s still making waves 27 years later! Fans of Maul are feasting currently, with a TV series and this epic comic run. Thus far, they’ve been killing it according to the aftermarket, and did so once again with this issue. It delivers the first full appearance of Deemus and Vario, and this 1:25 variant from Ken Lashley, the highest ratio available for this book, delivers a killer Maul front and center for fans to enjoy. We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 15% with a high sale of $35 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $30.

17 Spawn #1 – Todd McFarlane – Direct
Any time there is Spawn news, this book isn’t far behind. It’s not the first appearance of the character, but it is the most notable that fans assign to Spawn. Plus, there are a bajillion of them out there, and nearly every comic fan has had this issue at one point in their collection. Spawn is the aftermarket king for a reason, and he just keeps on Spawning. And, with a new creative team led by Matthew Rosenberg, it’s a fond farewell to the era of McFarlane Spawn. We tracked 55 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 13% with a high sale of $122 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $26.

18 Capes #5 – Cory Walker (1:10)
Invincible is all the rage currently, which leads new and old fans alike to dive into the expansive Invincible Universe. Capes is one of those series that Kirkman delivered over 20 years ago. It didn’t have a major following and sort of petered out. It came back with a bang recently, with new issues (like this one), updated dialogue, and more. Some even got a sick variant or two, like this 1:10 from original Invincible artist, Cory Walker. Fans were eager to secure a cover featuring Clair Voyant! We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 8% with a high sale of $60 for a NM+ copy and a current raw NM FMV of $52.

19 Absolute Batman #18 – Dan Quintana – Davis Rider (Limited 999)
This book features the first appearance of the Absolute Court of Owls, but most of the attention is focused on who did this cover! Dan Quintana has grabbed hold of the market and isn’t letting go. It felt like this book was one that grabbed collectors’ attention and clued them in to the talent behind the pencils. It’s still hanging around, and so is Quintana with more Absolute Batman covers! We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 3% with a high sale of $289 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $223.

20 Black Cat #9 – Kris Anka – Virgin (1:50)
Black Cat has a large fanbase, but rarely do we get covers with such high ratios! This 1:50 from Kris Anka rocked the aftermarket and got fans’ attention, reminding them that Catwoman isn’t the only cat-centric femme fatale to fawn over. With such a limited run of variants for this title, and one LCS likely isn’t ordering a pile of them, this variant will be tough for collectors to secure off the shelf, leading to a trip to the online LCS to secure a copy. We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day growth trend of 7% with a high sale of $62 for an NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $51.
