Walking Dead TV Show Jumping Ahead

In a recent post on Comicbook.com, Andrew Lincoln talked about the end of All Out War and a possible time gap. After the time gap they would be in the A New Beginning Story Line
The time jump of course ends in issue Walking Dead 127 where A New Beginning starts.
Also, if the jump comes, after the jump it will only be a time before we meet Alpha and the Whisperers. Alpha first appears in Walking Dead 132
Also, not a bad idea to look at Walking Dead 138
From CB.COM:

While time jumps have happened on the television series before, never have they been more than a few months which usually corresponded with how long the show was off air between seasons. However, fans of the comic book know that a two-year time jump takes place shortly after the All Out War storyline.
While talking about the group’s desire to stay at Alexandria, Lincoln dropped the major hint about the show’s future. “Rick’s strength is seeing that we can fortify [Alexandria],” Lincoln tells EW. “A lot of these concerns and questions get answered relatively quickly in the first two or three episodes of this back eight. There is a time jump, I will say, at some point. And you will see why we stay in Alexandria.”
Whether or not the time jump will be the same as it was in the comics is to be seen but if its timing parallels the comics, it is still quite a good distance away in terms of episodes. Spoilers for the comics are inbound, which could also mean for the show, as we break down things to come.
Prior to the comic book time jump, not only was Negan introduced, but Rick and Negan go to a long war over the course of 12 issues. A handful of characters are killed off during the war, we won’t get into specifics, but somewhere in the time jump, Michonne banishes herself from the community.
Making an educated guess about when this time jump would actually arrive on television, one would have to say the midseason break of season seven or even between season seven and eight. The Negan/All Out War storyline is one which the showrunners will surely explore for the entirety of season seven and possibly even longer.

  1. Yikes. What does this mean for issue 108. Ezekial and Shiva were talked about by Robert Kirkman. Now I’m wondering if I should sell my double signed 9.8 . Bah, tough decision

    1. Yeah, expect another season or two with just dealing with Negan.. We probably won’t see Negan until the last episode this season..
But I’d dump issue 108 anyways, well, wait until his character hits the show, then dump it after it reached it’s peak.. Ezekial is a wuss… he’s useless during the All Out War and then he dies quickly after they settle down..

      1. Yeah that’s what I’m waiting for. I picked it up back when everyone thought Ezekial was cool. Then he turned into a baby. Guess I’ll hold it for now.

        1. I did load up on 132 and 138 myself though. Still waiting to unload a few more #100 as well, including a 2nd print Negan cover. 🙂

        1. What you looking for? If it’s a possible 9.8 candidate, I might be interested. I have one I plan on keeping which could be a 9.8.. the other I plan to sell is likely a 9.6… but finding one in better shape than the one I have now for PC is always nice..

      2. I have quite a few 100’s. I used to grab those up anytime I saw them still at cover or near. I’ve been waiting for the show to catch up.

        1. Yeah, even the regular cover is selling well now.. some around $35 range on average last time I looked. I think these will be more desirable than all the variants that can still be found out in the wild..

      3. It’s more of a VF+ . Black cover is tough. I have one that’s a super high grade, but it’s my precious. I look at it intently with terrible thoughts. It’s pretty bad, in a good way.

  2. When do you guys think is a good time to dump #100? I have multiples of pretty much everyone

    1. As soon as Negan shows up on tv possibly. That will probably be when most people start looking for his first appearance. It’s hard to say when the best time is. His popularity could continue to rise. We know he does not die like the governor. He could be around for a while.

      1. Yeah, I think we saw the first peak after this seasons mid season finale… I actually dumped most of my not so minty 9.8 copies (which still netted me plentiful profits from what I originally bought them for).
Seems these peak around first airing of the character and could last a couple of weeks or so. Like the Governor, his first appearance was hot for quite a while. Once he was dead, it started cooling off and now can be found for a reasonable price.

  3. This is why they say “Never Say Never”…
“While time jumps have happened on the television series before, NEVER have they been more than a few months…”
Desperate Housewives had a 5-Year Time Jump in the middle of it’s run to rapidly age the characters’ children, and leave a wide gap in the story so that fresh murder mysteries could again take place without viewers knowing what everyone had done during the missing years.
I used to love that show. One of the few that actually stayed entertaining the entire time it was on the air…
