Welcome back to weekend specs, this week we will hit a couple DC, Marvel, and Valiant back issues that have room to grow as they are all recent movie and TV specs. So get your eyes and fingers ready for some back issue flipping and let’s jump in.
Flash Vol.2 #138 1st Black Flash. After the other nights season finale of the Flash it was pretty apparent that Zoom was turned into the Black Flash, the Grim Reaper of speedsters. His appearance and teeth changed to match the Black Flash as well as the color of his symbols on his suit. This was a Spec off of Blind Adams list many months ago. It took me two months or so to secure a copy searching everyday, just because it’s not available anywhere. So there’s not a single copy on eBay or Amazon at the time of writing this (one copy of Flash Vol.2 #138 just appeared on eBay) nor has there really been any available for months through online sources. Hundreds of people are looking to buy this at the moment after last nights episode and not even one copy online to fight over. I paid $8 for it a couple months back today you could list it on eBay for $100 and it would probably sell within the hour just because supply is zero and demand is very, very high. It’s a sellers market with no competition. Search out your local shops for this keep it or flip it either way it’s a win.
Powerman #19 1st Cottonmouth. Have full confirmation today that Cottonmouth is the main villain in the upcoming Luke Cage Netflix television series. As well as Cottonmouth, Diamondback will be appearing as well (1st appearance Luke Cage Hero for Hire #1) which is pricey but Powerman #19 I bought last week NM for $6. These will be a great flip the week after the Netflix premiere.
X-Men #229 1st Reavers, 1st Gateway. Supposedly confirmed villains for Wolverine 3. These were a $1 yesterday today they are $10 online. I’m sure there’s some out there in your Lcs back issue bins still for $1. With the Reavers we most likely will see Lady Deathstrike (1st appearance Alpha Flight #33) and Donald Pierce (1st appearance X-Men #129, #132) be on the lookout for those but probably already pricey.
Eternal Warrior #4 1st Bloodshot. There’s a buzz of these Valiant movies to start casting soon and Harbinger is already getting up there in price so a good book to search out is Eternal Warrior #4. This book has been talked about for awhile now but this can still be found cheap I just found one for $12. The time to get this book cheap is about to pass as it already has with Harbinger.
Thanks and Aloha everyone happy hunting and a good weekend to you all.

Be on the lookout for Flash vol2 #141 2nd appearance of Black Flash and 1st cover this is hard to find as well. A couple cheap copies on Amazon for whoever reads this first.
They are gone. It was written by Mark Millar btw.
To what extent does the black flash appear in 139?
In 139 he’s not credited being in it, however his hands are in one panel and who or what he is is discussed for a min. We first see him in #138 and then again in #141
You the best
Love these specs! Great research!
Lady Deathstrike technically first appeared in Daredevil#197, as Yuriko Oyama. In Alpha Flight, she showed up in a costumed identity as Lady Deathstrike, but they are still the same woman and same character. Alpha Flight#34 even had a flashback to the events of Daredevil. They also used to split up this first appearance as DD#197 being the 1st appearance of Yuriko Oyama, Alpha Flight#33 as a 1st Cameo Appearance of Lady Deathstrike, & Alpha Flight#34 as a 1st Full Appearance of Lady Deathstrike. Plus, Uncanny X-men#205 is considered the initial Origin of Lady Deathstrike, as that’s when her journey as a Cyborg begins. I still think it’s pretty odd how everyone thinks she is Wolverine’s ex-wife, or that she has always been seeking revenge on Wolverine for killing her father. She was actually after Bullseye when she showed up in Alpha Flight, and only randomly encountered Wolverine. Ah, the limitations of Adamantium Tracking Devices…
That’s just Gen Xers dating ourselves by confusing the Fox Kids version of her origin with picture books.
Flash #138 going strong selling in under a day when listed.
I have Flash #138-141 and thought they were as important as #197-199. Also the Michael Turner (Flash) cover issues are worth having.
