The 88th edition of the open forum!
Rebirth starts to roll out this week after last week’s Rebirth #1… Thoughts?

  1. Managed to land 2 copies of the Batman Aspen Turner color variants at presale…wish i had ordered a couple more..lol. Sending to get graded asap when they arrive….

    1. It’s already sold out and going to a third print. It introduces or has cameos from several new characters. Will have a smaller print run. Worth a pick up.

    2. Also has an epilogue at the end with a few more added pages of Watchmen and is glue bound instead of staples.

  5. Spent the last few days picking up copies of Scarlet #1, managed 15 of them so far. No variants yet but still have a few spots to hit tomorrow

    1. I am itching to get out and get more. Of course the undercutters have set in and what was once a $70-90 book is selling for less than $50. I have 1 NM copy I purchased when it first came out but would rather make other $50 bills and keep mine.

      1. A couple were listed for $5 yesterday. What happened with this book is almost all online copies Amazon and eBay were bought by the same person who then relisted them all for crazy prices. I wouldn’t want to get caught in that money pit trap. It’s good to be a seller on this atm, but don’t be the poor sucker paying $50+ for a book that the seller picked up for a couple dollars the day before. Plenty of time for people to forget about this before it will be cast, piloted, green lighted, filmed, and aired.

        1. I want to hit my honey hole store because I know he has them. He usually has everything. Might have to be sick at the end of the day today.

    Malignant man #1. Movie is coming along, Found at cover
    Empty Man #1 1:20 variant. $10 + shipping Movie is coming along. Pays to be a reader of CHU….. While many sites reported Malignant Man news this week, only Anthony reported the Empty Man update.
    Surface Tension #1 Thanks to CHU for the tip on this.
    Scarlet #1 x2 Cinemax news. found a second print for $7 and a first print for $11.
    Rising Stars #0, #.5, #1, #2-#15, prelude. Picked up a bunch of these all the different #1, #0 covers in multiples. Can’t pass up getting a stack of movie specs for cheap with combined shipping. Probably have to buy another flip box as the current flip box is filled as of late thanks to rebirth.
    Crisis on Infinitive Earths #5 1st Anti Monitor. $2 Thrown in on combined shipping with my Rising Stars. Think I have 9 of these now.
    Green Lantern #20 1st Jessica Cruz I went with the combo pack variant.
    Green Lantern #25 3rd series 1st Atrocitus. Yes!!!!, not a movie or tv spec but a video game spec. Get this now before the masses. Can be found cheap in the wild I found it at cover with a couple dollars for shipping. Injustice 2 video game trailer came out. Atrocitus will have a lot of new found fans. This 1st appearance will be a good pick up to put away. Also Dex-Starr the red lantern kitty cat fights by Atrocitus’s side in the game. The cats first appearance is Rage of the Red Lanterns #1 worth a dollar bin pick up.
    Don’t wait to see these Lantern books on my weekend write up get on them now. I’ll be hitting the LCS tomorrow for rebirth, TMNT, A year of Marvels #1 amongst other stuff really like some of the Dark Knight Last Crusade covers.

      1. I wish i only had 4 short boxes of flip books. I literally have 9 short boxes worth of books on eBay at the moment. Luckily they move pretty quickly.

    I’m thinking of cancelling all my marvel books in my reserve except for star wars, darth vader and hyperion. I’m getting more and more disappointed in marvel books and DC seems to be on the right track so I’m picking up more of theirs. Besides, I buy way too many books :p

    1. Also picked up a Demonic Pilot season 1 for 4$ this week, along with a web of spiderman 32 for 5$, those were good pickups for me 🙂

  15. Non-comic related news for fans of Bloom County, Opus, and Bill the Cat: I just picked up an advanced copy of The Bill the Cat Story being released later this year. It is a biography that I never before realized I wanted to read since I was 10.

    I only went to 2 stores today, in the 2nd store while I was looking around three people came in looking for the Black Panther #2 2nd print they were all gone, good thing I pre-ordered 3 of those. I passed on Titans Rebirth and G L #1, starting to regret passing on the G L. Neither of the stores had the Yoda action figure cover. I also passed on TMNT.

  22. This week at my LCS’ I got Batman reg x2 + variant, Superman, Year of Marvels, Civil War II, Titans Rebirth. Back Issue bin I got Scarlet #2 x2, #3 x2, #4-#7 (bought all for $47 CDN, sold for $81 US, Im loving the exchange right now), Harrow County #1 (paid $5 CDN, sold for $20 US,
    picked up Joyride #1 x2 and #1 lotay Variant, Joyride #2 x2, We Stand on Guard #1 x4 and Green Lantern #20 x4, all at cover. For my PC i grabbed a Marvel Presents #72 (arrived today and is in really good shape, NM) for $7.50 US and ASM #500 x2 for $30 US, delivered. Plan on keeping one for my PC and flipping the other. Flipped a few Rebirth titles , Joyride #2, some key Jon Kent books, and some TWD #132s and #154s. Im going to start a fund with these flips so I can finally purchase, with good conscience, a solid copy of ASM #300. Ive wanted it for 25 years +, and its in my sights. Another profitable week with free books for my PC. Thanks, CHU!
