I’m sure many of you already hit Game Stop for their variants from time to time. I hit two local ones recently and found many of their books either on sale or even free (i.e. Buy 3 get the 4th free). I think they are just pushing the over stock, but I am all for comics below cover. Picked up Poe Dameron, C-3PO, and Vader Down all for less than cover. I did have to ask at each store if they had any books out back.
Thanks for the heads up. I will hit them tomorrow. I have been off the radar the past two weeks with my kids home.
Nice! That’s a great way to round out my variant collection! Thanks for the heads up!
Only one book for me this week.
Harley Quinn #11 ( both cover)
Going to try and get the Moon Knight variant though.
I’m going to lay low this week and mull over what book to buy with my Ebay Bucks! High Grade Silver Age Avengers or Strange Tales Key? I just picked up Gotham City Sirens 1-7, a Wizard World Young Avengers #1 and a Ultimate Thor #1 JSC variant.
I have been watching the wizard world hound avengers 1’s
OMG I would love a Hound Avengers series! 😉 Let the jokes commence! Iron Mutt
El-Vision Presley. (AKA. The Mexican Hound Dog)
Captain American Bulldog?
My two dogs one would be a villian.
I’d have the Boston terror and a shi tzunami
That’s right, I have two extremely masculine small female dogs with girls names…..
Benji-om!? Benji possessed by a Venom symbiot as a member of the Secret Avengers?
Damn you auto correct strikes again!! I meant Young Avengers
Of course!
Here’s a question for the seasoned flippers, what do you hypothetically do come tax time? As far as your profits from flipping books. Do you claim your earnings? I’m not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this question, or if it’s to personal. All hypothetically, naturally.
I am in the UK, but from a UK taxation point of view, unless you are a registered business selling comics, any disposals would probably come under the capital gains tax regime, not income tax.
Especially if this is a hobby i.e. you collect comics, and just sell the “odd” one from your collection you don’t want anymore. There is a tax free allowance of £11,500 per tax year, so unless you are selling a HUGE amount of comics you wouldn’t have to worry about it. Also, probably wouldn’t anyway as normally only applies to sales of individual items over £6,000, such as jewellery, antiques etc.
Again, from a UK point of view, if you flip a book and happen to make a profit, even under income tax regime, if Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs deem you are doing this as a business, I bet most people spend more on comics than they actually make in profit, so you could argue your business is loss making…
What the IRS make of it there though, no clue!!
Hey Jay. I actually posted an article about this a while back. I sell and usually hit about the PayPal reporting threshold of 200 transactions and $20,000. I have claimed it as income for the past four of five years. Needless to say, in Maryland I operate as a cash in/ cash out business. This means all the money I spend on comics, mileage to get them, mail them out, postage, trips to conventions, go against any profit I make. So it is total money in minus total money out. Since it is a cash in / cash out business, any expenses must be claimed in the tax year in which they occurred and cannot roll over. For example, if I bought a comic in 2015 and sold it in 2016, the cost of the comic counted in 2015 and cannot be deducted in 2016 against the sale.
Best thing to do is talk to a tax professional.
Any chance you can post a link to that past tax article Anthony? I remember reading it, but this is the first year it applies to me. I sold lots this year and I think this would benefit many of us. Thank you!
https://www.comicsheatingup.net/2016/04/12/spec-selling-and-taxes
My only advice, claim your earnings if you profited and you sold enough. Now if you did the dozen or so flips that netted you a couple hundred bucks total for a whole year, IRS not gonna probably come after you but you should still factor those in (ask tax professional though, they could likely qualify like a garage or yard sale, which are allowed by the IRS and they don’t care if you made money from selling used goods that most people lose money on, etc). You make thousands from flipping books, pay your taxes then.
My other advice, be careful of what you speak about online that can be easily traced back to you. You ever get audited (I doubt they’ll go that far to search your online posts and activity, but you never know), they can use such things against you.
Like Anthony stated, talk to a Tax Professional. Different states have different tax laws. I’m lucky to be in Texas, no state income tax so I only have to deal on federal level.
I sell all mine through a shell corporation based in the Cayman islands thus avoiding taxes. That’s how that works right???
Brennan, if I’ve learned anything from the movies…..that’s exactly how you do it.
Lol. Yes.
Wesley Snipes comes to mind when talking about dodging taxes.. 😛
Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated. I live in Canada, so my taxes are set up more like UKs than USA. And I need not worry about the IRS, thank god. No debtors jail here either. If I owe them, and don’t pay, I just get mean letters sent to me asking to pay. The letters aren’t even that mean, they are actually kind of nice. Very Canadian. I’m going to consult a pro.
Ha ha my faith in the world is restored, knowing that Canadians really are nice!
Happy New Year Wednesday Open Forum!
Pre-orders online this week:
Justice League v Suicide Squad #3B Connor Variant
The Walking Dead #162 both covers
Superman #14B Robinson variant
Batman #14 both covers
Cannibal #4
Heavy Metal #284 cover B
Underworld: Blood Wars
Also picked up a Detective Comics #850 for £3 in the wild this week, not the highest grade, probably an 8.5, but I’ll take that!
Also picked up some Hughes cover Catwoman’s for £2, some are up on ebay for £10-£12 so I am happy with that. All 9.2 to 9.6 from first brief look.
Marry Me?
Sorry you’re not my type!! ? ?
LMAO ??????????
At least let them post a picture and some more info.. you never know, could be one of our type? 😛
Unless “Douglass” is a dead ringer for Jyn Erso, Buffy Summers or movie version Harley Quinn I don’t wanna know!!
Haha.. but what about personality? You gotta give some people credit for great personality, not just looks.. 😉
Personality be damned, a wookiee may have a great personality, but I ain’t marrying the big hairy beast!!!
They’d keep ya warm though 🙂
Oh.. Buffy before Freddie Prinze or after? Big difference.. 😉
Picked up 2 copies of Love is Love (pulled last week)
Marry Me cover A (2x) and blank (2x) – midtown has 2 more copies and that’s it!
Atoll 1 (4x)
What’s the deal with Atoll, good spec pick for long term? Been hearing about it a lot but never got a copy. lol
It’s one hell of an interesting story. We do have a variant for it. It is done by Tim Daniel who does Enormous among other books. Tim’s work Enormous and Curse have both been optioned. It’s both a quick flip as it is hard to get ahold of and a potential hold depending if it is optioned in the future, plus it is a cool read.
Just been enjoying my second of two weeks off except that this week the fiance is back to work!! FREEDOM!!! And by that i mean finally getting to play telltale Batman! I’m on episode two now. So good. Thanks Tony!!
I watched the new Ghostbusters last night. What a bummer. It sucked so hard and it had nothing to do with the female cast.
The weird blonde was obnoxious, but I could get past that. What I couldn’t get around was the stupid Kevin character. He was the worst. I felt that they took everything good about the original and just tossed it aside. The movie sucked. But that’s just my opinion. It did have really good effects for the ghosts though.
I’m about to head out to my shop and grab:
Back to the future
Batman
Deadpool the duck
The atom
Justice league v suicide squad
Midnighter and Apollo
Nightwing
Superman
Autumnlands
Captain atom
Walking dead – both covers
I forgot about nailbiter, deadpool too soon and justice league. And no back to the future, maybe it’s not out this week?
I was able to snag the Unstoppable Wasp Torque variant…
At cover.. it was a decent comic day despite being a smaller week.
It’s a smaller week for sure. Walked out for under $50
Yeah, mine was pretty small. I did end up picking up extra copies for Marry Me and Hunters of Salamanstra. Also picked up a few issues I missed last week as I didn’t venture out to the comic shops.
I picked up the racy covers of Marry Me and am listing them shortly.
Couldn’t get hold of any online, may get to a LCS on Saturday to see if they have any available.
Looks like a smaller week for everyone based off of the posts.
I’ve only got Batman and Nailbiter this week. Always love a Wednesday with Nailbiter waiting for me at my LCS.
Serious question, how is Aspen comics keep pushing out Michael Turner Variants? I thought he passed away. Did he have that many unpublished work laying around? Seems like they have a Turner Variant cover for everything.
Reusing old art.
I had no idea he passed away! That’s what happens when you leave the family for so long.
Small week for me. No Star Wars books to my knowledge. I’m picking up
1. Unworthy Thor #3 Sook Variant.
I’m going to look for the 1:per store US Avengers to flip and the Deadpool the Duck 1:50 to flip.
Other than that, money going to the new house!
https://forbiddenplanet.com/211394-now-us-avengers-1-forbidden-planet-united-kingdom-reis-variant/
Seems like FP and Marvel still think the UK is the 51st State…
Hey, man. If you guys don’t want the EU anymore, we can offer you a whole new world of crazy ideas to be a part of. Moon landing didn’t happen? Welcome to America! Think trickle-down economics helps poor people!? Welcome to America! Can see Russia from Alaska?!?!?! Welcome to America… and I’ll have some of what you’re smoking!
We do crazy, we have Nigel Farage!!
Then come on in! Trump it up with us!
Tony, not sure if this is an issue with your site or an issue with all WordPress accounts.
The ads embedded at the top (the small square ones), if it’s a video my browser keeps auto-running it and literally jumps up the page to it, no matter how many timesI try to scroll down or if I am in the middle of writing a comment. I have no problem with ads in general, but this has got more than a little annoying! If it’s a WordPress problem I will contact them.
I have no control over the ads. It is a wordpress thing. I would recommend contacting WordPress or reloading the page so a new ad comes up. Since I get so much traffic and I am on their “free plan” they offset the cost of the bandwidth by placing he ads and then sharing the revenue with me.
Cheers. I just this moment managed to pause it, so I think that’s sorted the problem.
That reminds me.. maybe this is the year for some hosting and website changes we’ve been ignoring.. 😉
Picking up this week:
Saga 41 (unrecalled version to go with my 2 recalled versions)
Moon Knight 10 (James Stokoe)
I dropped Giant Days. It is a consistently good book, kind of Lumberjanes in college, but I am cutting back this year emphasizing more on selling than buying.
I’m getting ready for the local comic swap coming up in March. I’ve bought my first table, so I’m sorting and pricing now.
Waiting for the Simon Bisley Lobo/Harley Little Black Book 6 now that #5 has finally dropped.
Where is the local comic swap shop? State and city?
Portland, Oregon
http://www.frankensteinscomicbookswap.com/
Let me ask you a question as I thought of organizing something like this where I live. How does it work. Do they charge for tables or is it open to everyone

A guy I know rents out an Eagle Lodge for the day. He pays for it by charging $35/table beforehand. Another local toy swap rents out a small local airport hanger same concept. Just find a space willing to rent for the day, determine the number of tables you can fit, and then price the tables based on the cost to rent the space. Often the space renting already has tables to set up. The Eagle Lodge makes out in the rent and bringing in new people to the space who may join.
My pick ups this week…..
Atoll #1 x2
H Q #11b
Superman #14a and b
Unfollow #15 I think I read somewhere that this is ending soon, I’m not reading this anymore just spec’ing.
TWD #162a and b
Scarlet Witch #14 just for the cover, I really like that cover.
U.S. Avengers #1 Va., Md., and D.C.
Marry Me #1a and blank I saw it was sold out at Midtown so I got a couple more.
I also just got 2 copies of Spider-Man #12c the Isanove cover coming out next week, if you guys have not seen this cover you NEED to check it out it is a great cover, Midtown still has a couple in stock get them if you can. I have a felling it is going to be a big one.
That’s a pretty cool cover but I’m not paying Midtown prices for it, for Spider-Man Isanove that is.. It would be bigger if it was a first appearance.. it might heat up some at first but over time, first kisses don’t last long on the sizzling radar.. at least none that I recall..
First kiss issue of Nightwing and Oracle goes for good money.

If I want to see kissing.. I watch Skinemax late at night.. 🙂
I’m not a big Bendis fan right now either.. I finally got to finishing up Civil War II and talk about anti-climatic.. that ending just sucked!
With the cartoon coming out staring Gwen and Miles Morales, it could be big.

Oh, I didn’t know about the cartoon.
Meh..
I found 1 store carrying the Marry Me book. I got there, about 1.5 hrs after opening, and all cover A were gone. I grabbed a cover c and while I was debating on more, they were scooped up by someone else, leaving 1 cover b and one blank It seemed to be moving fairly well, perhaps a sign that the book is gaining traction?
It is a very popular web comic, so with that in mind, fans could be sweeping them up who don’t usually hit up the local shops.
The one copy I got is that racy cover, so I’m happy.
Looks like we have this week’s Wednesday Winner already!! Damn wish I had got some.
Hey Anthony quick question. I saw the video you and Larry did and you said this was the first time Marry Me was printed. Sadly, I no longer have any type of comic shop in my town and the nearest one is 1.5 hours drive, so I am forced to turn to eBay for eBay pricing. This morning I noticed a 39.99 listing for a Marry Me comic offered on a free comic day signed by the author in 2009. (Listing #291973057891) It of course has since sold, but I was wondering how this might effect the new #1? Is this older version maybe the “one to get” I don’t want to stoke any fires or controversy, just wondering your thoughts. Thanks.
It was an ashcan/preview book for the series. FCBD comics usually don’t do as well as the real books but can. No controversy. Signed books can also do better at times than nonsigned.
Also that is Terry not Larry.
Thanks so much, my bad on Terry’s name…I should know better, been following this site for awhile.
It’s no worries. At least you didn’t mess up my name 😉 glad to have you here. I appreciate all you guys who check out this site.
My main LCS has a very small dollar bin section that has had the same books in it for years. All early 90s image and valiant. I noticed one Star Wars book in there and it was a Star Wars #6 Montreal comic con variant. So I starting looking and I pulled out 9 of them. The shopkeep, who doesn’t give two shits about comics (he deals more on collectibles and cards), said he got s pile of them for free at the show and he didn’t know what’re do with them. I used my store credit and got all 9 for free ($9 credit)! Already sold 2 for $12 + shipping. Other in store pick ups were: Batman
TWD, both covers x2
US Avengers, deadpool Canadian variant x2
Atoll 1
Black 1 cover b
GIJoe ARAH #235
Animosity #4
Image + #9
AD After Death #2
Love is Love 2nd x3 (had 3 reserved and 2 pre sold)
Marry Me cover C
White #2
Deadduck #1, Ron Lim
True Believers Hulk planet Hulk #1 $1
Princess Leia #1 blank cover x3
Nice Star Wars pick ups!
I also wanted to post that I was going through my collection last night and discovered that my Spawn #1, that I bought when I was like 12, is a newsstand edition. I thought that was like kinda neat and wanted to share it. I totally remember that day, I used to have to wait for my dad to get home from work to take me to the comic store, so when I got there that day, the Hot new McFarlane series was gone. About a week later I was at the corner store and noticed it and bought it immediately . It’s got one kinda blunted corner but is in pretty decent shape otherwise. If you’re gonna have a Spawn #1, that’s the one to have!
Can I vent for a second? I went into a local comic shop yesterday and was looking for flips. The owner knows I am a flipper and have given him some tips from time to time. He is too lazy to list books though. I found a Hulk #1 One Per Store Variant and a Invincible Iron Man #1 1/25 Dekal variant mixed in with the regular copies. Not bagged and boarded and priced out like he does his other variants. I pick them up, walk over to the counter to pay, and he looks them up on eBay. He said I will sell you the Hulk for $20 and the Iron Man for $15. I said no. They are mixed in on the shelf and not bagged and boarded like your other variants that you mark up are. (Some variants he pulls, bags and boards, and sells for higher, some he just sits on the shelf at cover price.) needless to say he tells me he sees no reason why he should sell me the books for cover since (and even though it is his policy) they are selling for way more on eBay. I said because that is your policy. He said he was going to seek them on eBay himself. I put them back where I found them.
Well knowing that he is lazy and full of shit, I went back today when the “hired help” is working. Walked in. Made small talk. Grabbed the still unbagged and priced books. Took them to the counter. Paid full price. I remarked I was surprised that they weren’t bagged and boarded and selling for more. He said the owner, Tom, didn’t really care. He only prices up books like that for the speculator crowd.
I paid and walked out, laughing. Now needless to say I know Tom reads this site as that is where he initially recognized me from. So Tom, I go the books for cover price after all. Also, it’s not fair to target certain people because they have more knowledge than you or the other customers in what to buy. Furthermore, targeting people based on the fact they may sell the books is pretty lame. No one is going to pick the Hulk One Per Store Variant over the regular cover as it is not very good in comparison.
Ok sorry, rant over.
Tom just got buuuuuuuurnt!
Lol.
You can’t fault someone for wanting to make a dollar. I know you use selling/flipping to support your hobby (sell 4 of something to keep 2 at $0 to you). It happens with other items as well…anyone have to deal with the Hatchimal situation this Christmas? That was nuts.
Yeah, and i do not fault him for wanting to make money. But the stores rule is bagged and boarded variants are priced as marked, all others are cover. Simple the way he does it. I also walk into his shop and say, “hey you have several copies of a $25 book on your shelf.I will tell you which one if you let me buy half.” He normally does. Then i usually go back later and he has never done anything with them and scoop them up as well. He complains to me all the time about he just doesn’t know how to grow his shop like another shop in the area is doing. I have given him numerous tips over the years but ennui has just set in. He checks ebay for EVERY book I purchase in his shop. I could pick up a kids book for my son and he will check it on ebay and ask me what the “angle” on the book is. I tell him that it is just a surprise for my son.
@SeanM. If the owner sells it to Tony at cover, as asked for on the shelf. Then he makes money. Tony flips it and makes a profit off it. Tony also has to do leg work for that profit. Now Tony takes that profit and reinvests it in more comics at said owners shop. The owner now makes more money and has a loyal, regular, weekly client. It’s win win, for a shop owner to sell his books to a flipper. That flipper opens up a much larger market for that owner to sell his books. A very symbiotic relationship. Not the Spidey kind though.
Agreed with this 100%
On another note, you can’t be that guy who walks into a shop early on Wednesday and clears out the shelf of any particular book. I have no problem with a shop owner limiting copies, and I think that most flippers do not ‘buy out’ books in order to flip. They’ll buy a couple if they can and leave the rest for others who want to make the effort to get them at cover the week they are released. If those are still there next Wednesday though, fair game, imo.
These were released a well and two or three weeks ago one copy of each was purchased.
I know, I was just covering the flipper code. The ‘you’ in that statement was general. Not you specifically, Tony.
Oh I know. I am not a fan of shelf clearing and don’t recommend it. I will slow bleed a Store though.
Here’s my stance also on the shops that jack up prices on release day. If they want to play the spec secondary market, they need to close their shop and become true speculators by buying (from other shops or online) what’s potentially hot and selling on such secondary market. If you buy wholesale (primarily from Diamond), run a shop, then to me you’re obligated to sell comics at their retail prices on release day. A week or so goes by and a comic heats up, then you can pull it and adjust your price accordingly.
The only other exception is, if a regular comic starts heating up and say you ordered 20 copies, I think it’s okay for such shop to pull 1 or 2 copies off to the side to sell later in hopes the heat is still there. But jacking up the prices at secondary market values is bad business if you’re an actual comic dealer.
Some of the stories I hear from you guy’s on the site, make me glad that all the shop’s I frequent have pretty cool owners and employees.
I’ve never liked the idea that a shop can decide to change the price AFTER you’ve tried to buy it. If it’s on your shelf then you honor the sale. I can understand if something was accidentally marked wrong. I don’t expect a store to sell me a $1000 TV for $100 because an employee left a zero off. In cases like these however, You bought the book expecting a $4 sale. You’ve made your sale.
If a shop did that to me, I would drop everything I was going to buy, walk out and never look back. Then I would spread the word to others to not shop there ever.
It gets complicated if it’s an easy shop to hit and you’re making enough money on it that you can’t cut it out without hurting yourself.
Nope, not for me. It’s a principle thing for me. Just like the time MyComicShop treated me like crap.. nope, never gonna buy from them again, even after they offered me a decent coupon here online.. nope, nope, nope.. sorry, you lost a customer forever if your gonna treat them like crap. It’s people like me that keep businesses in business.. they want to step on us like we’re nothing, I’m not going to waste my time or effort with them. 🙂
Totally with you Poyo. That’s why I have stopped going to my local LCS, the nearest one is 20 miles away after that, but he was a knobhead so I thought “Sod you, it’s online and off to Brighton for me!” Even though it’s more inconvenient to get there (obvs!)
I commend you. I definitely agree with you. From reading some of Tony’s past posts I know he gets a lot of books from this shop and I think it changes things a bit. This isn’t keeping a guy in business, It’s almost more like keeping yourself in business. But like I said, I agree with you.
I wish I sold comics to keep myself in business. Unfortunately, it’s just the hobby side gig.. for fun. But I hear ya.. if I was depending on it to make money, then I’d probably take a different approach.. by ruining him forever! 😛
He isn’t my regular pickup shop. But I hit him weekly for books as I like to keep comic shops alive. And even though I do not get a discount from him and get one from the other big store.
I have one store owner like that. He rarely, rarely gets my business. The guy who gets my pulls is the guy who is nice to me and isn’t a dick with his attitude or prices. My guy lets me pull back issues and keep them in my sub box for as long as I like, he gives me 20% credit of all my Wednesday purchases towards TPBs and back issues. He lets me return books or exchange them, with in reasonable limits, but I try not to do that at at all if ever, nice to have though. I can email or call him any time to pull books for me, even on Tuesday nights. He doesn’t care about comics, but bags and boards all his stock. He carries most of the big two and gets ratio variants on big books, the drawback is he has zero small publishers and very few image, and he isn’t the most reliable for pre orders. I have another shop that is very good with pre orders, and another that gets every book, every Wednesday. I love that you got your books after all at the right price, Tony. Those owners need to realize that alienating comic enthusiasts is not good business for comic stores.
There’s a couple shops I go to where they know I flip books, once in a while I get the “what’s up with this issue.” and I’m dying to say “none of yer friggin business, do your own homework!” But while they are putting Wolverine 80 on the wall for $20 I’m raping them hard by pulling gems out of the dollar bin, so there’s some satisfaction in it. They’ll mark up a hot book well above cover the day it comes in, which is why they still have a stack of Nowhere Men #3 in their longboxes that will never sell at $10 each haha
Lol. Nowhere men. That died a long time ago.
Yup, and it had a chance for revival. With the long gap though pretty much killed its momementum. I must say, it’s still good but Stephenson pulled a Wiebe… And killed his best book to date.
Stephenson invented the Wiebe.
Very true…
I managed to grab a Deadpool the Duck 1:50 Zdarsky cover. My ebay listing was the only one other than one U.S. auction and a UK auction. Sold for $44.99!
I think it could go higher if there aren’t any out there. I can’t believe none are listed.
I just opened up a package I got, inside was Rick and Morty #1-#5. All 1st prints all NM/M, the #1 looks better than my PC copy I’m definitely going to get it graded.
Picked up the new WD of course and the Moon Knight #10 1:25 variant, the Crook one, not the Portacio piece of crap. Like I need a reminder of everything that was wrong with the 90’s yeesh!
Didn’t see any Love Is Love 1st prints but I didn’t fully make the rounds today. I’ll hit up the roads, and shops less traveled tomorrow for those and hopefully copies of Marry Me.
Looks like the pre-Christmas sales at a few LCS’s didn’t leave much of quality in the bins for the post-New Years sales. Bought a couple books for myself for a change:
Marvel Super-Heroes #17 – 1st solo Black Knight VF with a super tight spine. This book is always hammered whenever I see one at a shop so this was a nice pickup. Plus I love covers that have the 1970’s 7-11 Slurpee cup pose!
Fear #12 – Man-Thing with Starlin art, probably the cleanest copy I’ve ever owned
…that’s all folks
Lots of good insight here about local shops and flipping. My original statement, if it changes views, was from Anthony’s perspective..the shop owner cannot fault Anthony for supporting his hobby in such a fashion. I should have clarified that. I too, have been to my local shop when it was here, dropped a bit of knowledge (mostly learned here) and then it’s a “oh, really? I didn’t know that”. Then all of a sudden before I buy something it’s looked up on eBay. Or I’ll pass on a book, and next week it’s in the glass case marked up. That blows. It makes me want to keep all that info I learn to myself, and stop the talk…which sort of kills that hobby community feeling. And if that store owner you named Anthony does read this site, it’s his fault for not monitoring his stock. You’very already given him the same leg-up as all of us here. Fair game.
Three of the local shops I go to know who I am and what I do. I don’t hide it. One is completely open to me and hooks me up. One eBay checks everything I buy. Another tells there staff to watch me and pull any additional copies of anything I buy. I sometimes mix it up and pull things out of their bin worth nothing and let them have to figure out it’s worth nothing. A little misdirection.
My now primary shop sells all comics at cover. Release day, 2 weeks later, 6 months later. That’s their policy and most of their books go to the dollar bin after the Trade hits stands.
My old shop I was loyal to that closed, I would hook him up, he would hook me up. It was a nice partnership since I wanted him to succeed as that’s where I got my books from primarily.
The third closest shop to me sells their variants like Midtown for the most part, sometimes more, sometimes less. If a regular issue becomes hot, for the most part if it’s within 3-4 months since release, it’s cover price and none of their employees will ever mark it up. It has to be bagged and boarded with a marked up price for them to sell it other than cover price.
