Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 6/14/17
Big week this week so before we get it rolling, I am auctioning off a bunch of variants starting at .99 cents to raise funds for NYCC trying to get 50 listed tonight check them out here: .99 Cent Chu Variant Auctions Anyway, on to the picks of the week.
Returning Favorites
Briggs Land Lone Wolves #1 – Cannot pass up a book with a built in TV show. These characters could come front and center in the show making this book worth the flip.
Harrow County #24 – Still the best horror comic on the stands. Cullen Bunn at his best
Regression #2 – Speaking of Cullen Bunn, his new horror series gets its second issue on the stands. Second issue print run drop could make this hot.
For the Love of the Cover
Betty and Veronica #3 Adam Hughes variants– I am not alone in loving Adam Hughes’ good girl art. These covers are just awesome.
The Odd DC Book on the List
Dark Days: The Forge #1– Wrapped in a Jim Lee cover, and featuring the return of a beloved Batman Villain, no joking, and written by Scott Snyder, this one is all pluses.
The One to Watch
Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #8 Regular Cover by Stegman – First Mary Jane Venom. News didn’t really pick up on this until after final order cut off (we waited to put it out there.) People could be scrambling for this.
Small Press Gem
Jimmy Bastards #1 – Garth Ennis doing a hilarious take on James Bond. Win!
Pick of the Week
Venom #151 Mary Jane Venomized Variant – already selling for above cover on eBay on a book that hasn’t even come out yet. Pretty good. Now there will be a ton of these and a ton for sale, but looks like it could be a good short and long term pick.
Small Press Pick of the Week
Mindbender #2 (Regular and Variant)- Awesome new book by James Pruett. Wrap an already hot book in a variant cover by Francavilla and have an even hotter book. As Cartman would say “Kick Ass! Regular cover already selling above cover on eBay.
Variant Pick of the Week
Old Man Logan #25 Tom Grummett Homage Variant – When is a 1:10 selling for more than a 1:25, when it is a Hulk 181 Homage. This one is being listed in the $30 range already. $6 here if you are quick…

Not quick enough, for that Old Man Logan.
Question for Anthony. Was thinking of ordering some back issues from comicxposure.Had problems with them long time ago with not answering phone or emails and never shipped my order. Have they gotten their act together.I put some things in shopping cart at their site but stopped short of ordering because they might not really be in stock and i won’t ever get the items i ordered like last time.let me know your opinion thanks.
Michael, I have never had a problem with anything that I have ordered from them. Others have said they have had problems. I cannot speak for others, will let them do that, but all my orders have come to me safely.
Thanks! i will give them a try again.
