Wednesday Winners of the Week

The 5th Wednesday of the month had winners? I miss the Wednesday winners each week, when there are some. It gives us speculators a good view on what we should look out for at the local shops.

That’s right though, the 5th Wednesday this past week produced a few winners and I think both are total surprises.

First of all, one winner so far was already mentioned and it involves a new Venom character donning a mech suit. Wait, does the symbiote put on the suit or does the suit put on the symbiote?

Regardless, we saw a jump in sales for Edge of Spider-Geddon #2 go from cover to the $12-$16 dollar range for some recent sales. Most if not all of these are for the Cully Hamner Cover B variant. Not as much love for Cover A as of yet.

Not as much movement though, seems a handful of sales but now with 5 or so listings left all around the $15 range, maybe it’s a waiting game for some to buy or some are still out gathering upย  these issues at the local shops. We all know Marvel has huge print runs for their books so this wasn’t particularly hard to find but I also don’t expect it to be over 80k in size either, so it will dry up much faster than some of their other titles that are easily 100k or bigger.

The other surprise winner is The Beyonders #1 Cover B by Andi Ewington. Most Cover A sold at cover price range but not a lot of Cover A listed now, only Cover B’s. Not sure what’s causing this heat but with a handful of sales now around the $20 range for Cover B, I’m marking this as a winner.

I think this is a bigger winner than Spider-Geddon. It seemed to creep up in price all on it’s own without much mentions yet.

      1. Another cover A 9.8 just sold for $92.30 thatโ€™s 3 graded cover A and one cover B at $100 today alone.

  1. Beyonders is written very well and I’m looking forward to the next issue. I guess word of mouth and a small print run are doing wonders for it. Aftershock is an awesome publisher IMO!!!!!!Aftershock fanboy….yessur.

  2. I like surprise winners because they tend to be easier to find in stores. Expected winners are quickly soldout due to competitive speculators anticipating them.

    1. Exactly. I think in this case most were seeking out Spider-Geddon while no one was really seeking out Beyonders….. But they Will.be now. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It happens. I didn’t even bother with Spider-Geddon.. thought it was kind of dumb, still think it’s kind of dumb. Particularly the name.. Ven#m.. ughh!
