Make sure to check out Old Lady Harley #5 out today. It features the first appearance of Old Man Joker and his son Joker Jr. It is sold out at Diamond and most online retailers.
While I am at the Magic Kingdom, loyal CHU-fam members like Jeremy A. are keeping me in the loop. Old Lady Harley #5 is in stores today.
Check it out below.
with a print run thats going to be around 14k, and having 2 1st apps this is a great long hold
No variant cover?
Totally missed this one… called my LCS and they sold out. Midtown sold out. Was able to order 1 through mycomicshop, they seem to be limiting to 1 or are simply sold out because I can’t add any others… had to place 3 individual orders on forbidden planets website, since they were also limiting to 1 each. Don’t know if they’ll honor all of those orders though… the old man joker isn’t the big deal to me, but a 1st appearance of their son could become pretty big.
Sold one for $15 already. Pop goes the comic book!
Nice, forbidden planet contacted me and sold me they could only send me one. Btw I like that they charge under $2 for shipping.
Cheers for the heads up Anthony, just ordered 1 from an ebay store seller. Is there no love for the three antarctic press 1st issues released this week. I have ordered 1 of each in case there is some punchline type heat.
Antarctic Press press 1st issues? I didn’t think Antarctic had any books hitting shelves this week.
Forbidden Planet in the UK had three listed for release today however just checked my order which states unavailable. The three are Offbeats, Tainted Love and a one off called Houdini Master Detective.
Will this be a quick flip or something to hold onto?
Hard to tell. Gonna have to see how the market treats and reacts to it. Could be quick flip, could be long term. Buy two, sell one that pays for both, hold the other if you can.
Have to see how the market reacts.
I believe it’s a hold and will do the same things as first Batman Who Laughs.
I have one in my pullbox and one more that I pre-ordered.
I grabbed 4 today, already sold one, will list the other shortly. Then hold two for a bit. I think this is a quick flip and a long term hold.
It was a really decent series: issues 3 & 4 were particularly funny and I was really surprised with issue 5. You knew a Harley/Joker kid would be explored someday, but I didn’t think it would be in this series.
I got 1 copy at my reg. LCS and realized something was up when the manager said it was selling out fast. Then I checked the CHU website and saw the heads up. I hit an alternate shop and was able to get 3 more. I suspect this issue will disappear from the comic shelves quickly.
So pissed that I missed this as I couldn’t get to my LCS yesterday, and by the time I called them they were sold out. I ordered 3 from forbidden planet, but they wrote to me saying it was 1 per customer, and haven’t heard back since, so I hope they end up shipping me at least one. Ordered 5 from Mile High and they just updated my order to 1, and ordered 1 from mycomicshop. Should end up with 2, hopefully 3 because I think this one def. has legs.
It’s funny – when I look back to keys that came out before I got back into collecting (TT12 for example), I always think man if I was collecting then, I would have grabbed at least 10… but day’s like this make it clear it’s not so easy even when you try to be up to date with what’s hot.
You’re right…it’s not easy…even when you think you’re on top of it or think you have a clue. I saw the Old Lady Harley #5 cover a week ago (with Joker! in the background) and thought it might be a good idea to grab a few extras…then forgot about it until yesterday (therefore no planning ahead where to go or call). I think I was lucky to get the 4 I got. I could have bought a bunch more TT 12 but only picked up 5 A cvrs and 1 B cvr. Duh! A couple of other screwups in recent years…I could have bought another Edge of Spiderverse #2 Greg Land variant for cover the day it came out but told myself 1 was enough (it was gone when I called my LCS a day later for it)…and I could have had another Thanos #13 1:25 variant for around $10 but decided against that one too (it was gone when I sought it out a week later). But my biggest blunder…back in late 80’s I could have pulled the trigger on an Incredible Hulk #181 for relatively cheap $ but I was not a big fan of Herb Trimpe’s art so I kept telling myself I didn’t need it. Uugghh! You live and learn. And realize there will be a next time.
Yep… hindsight is 20/20
I think another thing that plays in these days is just how many comics titles are coming out. When I was younger there seemed like just a handful of popular titles but today it’s really blown up with multiple titles per character and variant covers each week, not to mention all the new Indies that come out. That makes it tough to keep up with them all as well. Thankfully we have sites like CHU to help us sort it out
Issue #4 of Old Lady Harls has a last page cameo of Geriatric Joker which would pair nicely w/ #5. It also has 1st appearance of Old Man Aquaman in it too.
Might be worth grabbing Harley Quinn 42 featuring the first appearance of Old Lady Harley before they shoot up!
No mention about this comic at 4 different speculation websites before wednesday. I like unexpected hits because they tend to be more available for purchase at stores as speculators tend to quickly buy anticipated hot comics.
Read 3 has a cameo too?
Yup. Last page cameo of Old Man Joker in #3 and #4.
