#11 THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #2 DAVID ROMERO 1:25 VARIANT (IMAGE, 2020) The Department of Truth is following James Tynion’s other hot series SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN. It’s rare when a variant sells as many copies as it did last week. It sold 42 copies, had a 7-day trend of 47% and had a high sale of $42 for a raw copy. It’s time to pay close attention to upcoming variants for this series.

#12 PHANTOM STARKILLER #1 SECRET VHS (LIMITED TO 400) (SCOUT, 2020) This is Scout’s 2nd secret VHS variant. It’s quite popular and makes for a fun book to look for on new release Wednesdays. This VHS is still hot and sold 18 copies, had a 7-day trend of 92% and had a high sale of $112.50 for a NM+ raw copy.

#13 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES THE LAST RONIN #1 MATEUS SANTOLOUCO (1:25) (IDW, 2020) This 1:25 variant is one of the hottest covers for this first issue. It sold 24 copies, had a 7-day trend of 92% and had a high sale of $179.69 for a CGC 9.8.

#14 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES THE LAST RONIN ASHCAN (IDW, 2020) This preview included pages for for THE LAST RONIN #1 that was redrawn, making this an inaccurate representation of what stores were going to order. However, it sure made for a fun collectible. It sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 124% and had a high sale of $100 for a raw copy.

#15 STAR WARS DARTH VADER #6 (MARVEL, 2020) Not only is this a great cover by Inhyuk Lee, but it also features the first appearance of Ochi, a Sith Assassin. And right now, first Star Wars appearances are highly sought after. This issue sold 26 copies, had a 7-day trend of 92% and had a high sale of $25 for a raw copy.

#16 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #300 (MARVEL, 1988) Man, this first full appearance of Venom is just super hot right now. It sold 20 copies, had a 7-day trend of 117% and had a high sale of $5750 for a CGC 9.8.

#17 SPAWN #311 (IMAGE, 2020) With the B&W variant of this Chadwick Boseman tribute in the top 10, this color version is just as awesome. It sold 30 copies, had a 7-day trend of 71% and had a high sale of $10.50 for a raw copy.

#18 SPIDER-MAN #1 SILVER/BLACK VARIANT (MARVEL, 1990) It may have a tremendous amount of copies, yet it’s still one of the best comic covers ever. Collectors want 9.8 copies in their collection. Hence, It sold 10 copies, had a 7-day trend of 256% and had a high sale of $99 for a CGC 9.8.

#19 BATMAN #101 JORGE JIMENEZ GRIFTER 1:25 DESIGN VARIANT (DC, 2020) This GRIFTER design variant has some light heat. It sold 12 copies, had a 7-day trend of 138% and had a high sale of $31.01 for a NM raw copy.

#20 SPAWN #1 (IMAGE, 1992) This first SPAWN issue started it all and remains one of our best selling books. It sold 20 copies, had a 7-day trend of 116% and had a high raw sale of $150 for a CGC 9.8.

  1. At any given time, I have 40-70 copies of Spawn 1 in stock. They sell, but they also come back in the door all the time. I’ve never once considered going through them for possible 9.8s but it may finally be time. Most $80 9.8s will sell just fine raw for $45-50 and Spawn has for years. But that book looks to finally be worth slabbing.
