Poyo’s FOC Highlight Books for Last Call 11/09/2020

FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering.

Lots of firsts coming out of Captain Marvel as of lately so be sure to put in your pre-order for Captain Marvel #24 which should be considered the “first full” appearance of Ove that we saw in Captain Marvel #23 that we ran spoilers and after it was released this past week.

Captain Marvel #24Can’t leave out a new Venom book right? King in Black is starting to kick off and Donny Cates says he was planning something huge (could just be writer/creator marketing but he hasn’t completely been wrong in spilling the vague details of his books) for Venom Legacy #200 which is fast approaching with Venom #35. So the new tie-in story arc should not be passed over..  (which you’d have to be living under a rock for the past 2 years if you’re not aware with all the hoopla coming out each month for this title).

So make sure you got your orders in for Venom #31.

This next book might be an entertaining read. I really enjoyed this writers Hot Lunch Special which I think didn’t get the recognition it deserved.

Either way, I’m looking forward to checking out Knock Em Dead #1 from Aftershock Comics.

Knock Em Dead #1Phantom Starkiller #1 is getting a 2nd printing. I like this character. Just good cheesy cosmic fun that reminds me of my HE-MAN days when I had Skeletor battling HE-MAN.

Phantom Starkiller #1 (2nd Printing)Normally known for their cover art, now they’re dabbling in writing. So it’s on the check out for me with the new E Ratic #1 from AWA and Kaare Andrews.

If the writing is on par with this one, could be a fun read.

  1. i was wondering about the LCSD books that were up for FOC last week and the week before. Were they orderable by the public or only the comic shops were able to order them? My LCS owner stated that I’m not allowed to order that. Do you think that the 2nd print of The Last Ronin will have a larger print than the first?

    1. Your comic shop owner is wrong for this year, in previous years brick and mortar stores had to register for lcsd but this year they made it open order for anyone. I’m sure this confusion will cause shortages across the board.

    2. My “LCS” is in Wisconsin (I’m in Ohio). They’ve had all the LCSD books open to order on their weekly FOC lists. Only difference being that they weren’t discounted like everything else.

      No

The public can’t directly order but you could order through your local comic shops. This year they are open order. In the past, they were open order but still limited and allocated from what I’ve been told. So a shop could order 100 copies but might only get 40 copies. But this year I’ve been told it’s pretty much print to order, they’ll be printing based on orders.
