Zip's Previews Spec list

After a little break, out friend Zip is back with his spec list from the most recent issue of previews:

Alright guys, before I get to the review, I was not particularly impressed with the small press this month. Luckily, we still have some pretties to foam at the mouth over coming in November.
Captain America #1 (Marvel)- If this is really the direction they are taking with the character (It is Marvel, people die and come back to life on a daily basis), then it’s worth grabbing a few of the #1.

The variants for this thing are, well… Stephen Colbert as Falcon is one of the variants. That is all I have to say on that.
The Humans #1 (Image): a lot of coverage on this one. High hopes all around!

Capture Creatures #1 (Kaboom)- This one i’m iffy on. Who knows though. Its Kaboom. Most of the #1s from Kaboom hit for a little while. If it sees long term success…I’m sure they have the resources to take it to TV. You start hearing talk of Pokemon..Just grab a copy.

WHY WE LOVE IT: Frank and Becky’s sidewriting and gorgeous artwork have always been a favorite of ours, especially with their original web comics like TINY KITTEN TEETH. Getting a chance to tell their original adorable creature story and seeing more of what they can do…yeah, we wouldn’t miss this.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: Becky Dreistadt (ADVENTURE TIME 2014 ANNUAL) and Frank Gibson (THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL) are two of the most clever and visually arresting creators in the business, and this is one of their most ambitious projects ever. From the vivid visuals to the rad story and hilarious, heartwarming moments, you’ll love every second in this world. If you like titles like POKÉMON or DIGIMON, or just like cool things, this is definitely the comic for you.
WHAT’S IT ABOUT: Over a hundred wonderful and terrifying creatures have suddenly appeared on earth. Two teens investigate the origins of these curious creatures and how they can stop those who are trying to destroy them.
My Toss up for the month is Dark Gods.
Dark Gods #1 (Avatar Press)- It is Justin Jordan. But it is also Avatar. I will be grabbing it just to see the story. The art looks cool, and the concept matches the cool factor. I’ll be grabbing one.
