Alan Moore’s classic Batman story, The Killing Joke, is getting made into an animated film. The some times over the top Joker story is really considered one of the seminal Joker stories. SO why not get one of the most famous voices for the Joker to voice act him.
Comicbookcom had the story earlier.
Mark Hamill will reportedly voice The Joker for Batman: The Killing Joke, the upcoming animated feature film from DC Entertainment.
Hamill will reprise the role of Batman’s arch-nemesis after saying that he had retired the character. As most know, Hamill voiced The Joker through Batman: The Animated Series, the Batman Arkham video games, and other projects. When Warner Bros announced at San Diego Comic Con that they would bring the Joker-centric graphic novel to life, Hamill said that he would come out of retirement to voice the Joker in that film.
For those not in the know, The Killing Joke is considered by many as the ultimate Joker story. Written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland in the late 1980s, the story became famous for offering a possible origin story for the Joker.
First Prints of The Killing Joke can go for as much as $100 ungraded.
I love Mark Hamill voicing Joker. Whenever I read any lines Joker has I hear Mark Hamills voice. Perfect cast.
Agree with you on that one. I bought a 1st print a while back for $15 in NM just so I can read it but once I had it and saw how flawless it was I didn’t even want to read it any more lol so I YouTube it and watched it there instead lol. Such a good book. Make sure you keep me updated on this info Tony since this is the only site where I get my comic news lol.
Such a great story! Mark Hamill voicing the Joker again will be icing on the cake! I bought a few of these when they first came out. Need to dig them out. Might be time to trade or sell the extras.
First prints go for a nice chunk of change.
I still remember being a kid and having my mind blown when I found out that Luke Skywalker voiced the Joker in my favorite cartoon.
