Comics Picks of the Week for 10/16/13

Man, nothing gets me more pumped than Wednesday. Each week is like Christmas. Each week hundreds of new. Oops hits the shelves and we go through the listings to tell you what we think is going to be big.

1. Letter 44 – Charles Soule’s new book from ONI has a lot of buzz going into its Wednesday release. The black and white preview is going for $30 bucks. The regular cover is almost sold out at the distributor level and there is a sweet phantom variant for the book as well. Oh, and it is also just a dollar. I know some people are not big on $1 books but look how well The Strain has done. Print runs on ONI books are smaller than most other publishers. Seriously, grab a copy of this.

2. Zero #2 – Sold out first issue, fantastic story, really a great book.

3. Nowhere Man #6 – I know I will get flack for this one. Hopefully the return of the series will bring heat back to this once popular and fantastic series.

4. Uncanny X-Men #13 – Second full appearance of Blue Wolverine’s son. First reference to him being the son. Wolverine takes a mortal hit from his son.

There are a ton of other books coming out, including Dark Horses S.h.o.o.t First which looks interesting and is close to being sold out. Tell us what you are speculating on this week.

  1. I’m looking forward to S.H.O.O.T. First. Of course I’m happy Nowhere Men is back after a big delay.. I’m gonna have to reread them just to remember more details of what’s going on..

    1. Nice catch. I just ordered one as I missed out and have been waiting patiently for them to drop on eBay or other sites. I figured these would end up being a $15-$20 comic so I can’t pass up $10 for one. I threw in some Letter 44 #1 as well, at a buck each is hard to pass up if it becomes big. 🙂

  2. I picked up a few good books this week.
    The Devil’s Dog #1
    Bushido #3
    Imagine Agents #1
    Liberator #4
