Walking Dead 127 Poll

The Walking Dead 127 cover was released a few weeks back. This is the first book post All Out War. One thing is sure from looking at the cover, no familiar characters, no Rick, No Carl, No Negan.
So just for fun (and yes it is not an original idea) take the poll below and let us know what you think will happen. Feel free to comment below as well.

  1. Rick isn’t going to die. Any one who’s familiar with the comic book should know that the story is not about zombies, it’s not about the apocalypse, it’s the story about one man who just happens to be living in the zombie apocalypse, how his morals change, etc. When Rick dies, that’s when Kirkman ends the comic most likely.

      1. I think he says that but we all know the story is ultimately about Rick. He’s right though, he could make Rick die in the end, to end the comic. šŸ˜‰
Kill rick before it’s actually over and you likely lose a lot of readers or watchers of the show if they were to kill him off in the show.
I see some on message boards saying they want to see Negan take over but that guy would get bland and boring quite fast, I’d lose interest fast if it was just a character who drops the F bomb every other word and is a sadistic ahole.

  2. I think one day they’ll move on from Rick… they just have to do a better job developing new characters so people care about them.

      1. Pick up 91 and 92 while you still can as well. When they introduce Jesus in the show, these are going to blow up like Michonne and Abraham first appearances. These can already be found at $50 or so in NM 9.6 or better… but you don’t want to get stuck paying $200 or more when he comes around on the show.

  3. Rick is the key to making the books succeed, you need a hero in comics. The Walking Dead is not an average story. Its not a one shot or mini series either so you need someone to pull for to add a dynamic to the story. They would need to start building a successor to the hero before killing him off. Or maybe start a second story in another settlement far from the east coast and end all the characters in that story to make it work.

  4. Walking Dead covers have always caused a stir, but we don’t need to see Rick on every cover to know he’s still alive or not.
I think the next major death is going to be Carl (besides Negan). That poor kid, he’s had it the worst of anyone. He’s been shot how many times now? Put that poor kid out of his misery I say. šŸ˜‰

    1. I think this cover doesn’t contain any main characters simply because they don’t want to spoil the current storyline.
No way they kill Carl. He is the real hero of the series IMO. He is the character that demonstrates just how F’d up the world now is. Basically a kid raised in that world needs to become a sociopath to survive.

      1. A kid basically growing up in a world like the Walking Dead isn’t entertaining to me though, it’s expected and easily predicted.
The story about a small town cop, who never really had to even shoot his gun surviving in the zombie apocalypse, with the realization later that the threat isn’t actually the zombies but other people and survivors, that’s the real story behind it all. Rick endures the moral struggle of what’s right and wrong as a leader, when does killing become wrong and when is it justified. That’s why I’m hooked to the story, both comic and TV show. I find Carl rather annoying at times, kill him off! šŸ˜‰

    1. That is what I am feeling. I love rick, I love Michone, I tolerate Carl, I loved Glen and look what happened to him. There is no way an “all out war” can end without victims. I got the feeling that Maggie is being positioned for group leader in the future. I am wondering if that is the route they are going to take.
I feel that the first issue of ALL OUT WAR might end up being worth picking up a few extra copies, especially if the story line ends with a kamikaze style attack from Negan that results in Rick’s death.

    2. Just like issue 53, introducing Abraham and his gang, just less people this time around, still doesn’t mean Rick dies. Anyone notice on issue 122, Heath has both legs but he lost one in issue 121 after it was blown off? šŸ˜‰

      1. Sorry, Heath lost his in issue 120, not 121. Two issues later and he’s drawn with both legs on the cover.. I like it when Rick is accidentally drawn with both hands.. silly Adlard, stick to the story line when drawing covers! šŸ™‚

  5. Yeah, kill Carl and Rick becomes less soft. I think he’s soft cause he wants to try and lead a normal life in the apocalypse, so his son has some what of a normal life. But it’s the zombie apocalypse, it’s not going to happen, at least anytime soon. Kill Carl and Rick becomes what we all want him to be deep down, a bigger bad ass! šŸ˜‰

    1. I personally hate what Kirkman has done to Carl. He was shot at the farm, healed, lost his pregnant mom, shot in the face and now has a gaping hole where his eye should be. I really see no future for Carl. I don’t hate Carl as a character, just what is left of him (and on the show how he is always wondering off and no one notices). I have two sons myself, and would do anything I can for their survival. Rick has lost a lot too. I, for the sake of argument, posted it to see what people think, overall a good conversation.

      1. Carl on the show is coming into his own for sure. He’ll be around for a while. But yeah, Carl is just damaged goods in the comic now, get rid of him for the new beginning.
Kill off Ezekiel too, I know he’s new but his little meltdown a few issues back just shows he’s not suitable for life in the Zombie Apocalypse.
I hope Jesus sticks around, he could be the new Abraham, Rick’s right hand man.
Maggie looks pregnant on a upcoming cover as well, don’t think she’s gonna be up for being a leader since she’ll be Mother Maggie probably..
