Spread #1 Sells out

We have been talking (just a little) about the new Image series ‘Spread” from Justin Jordan and Kyle Strahm. The first issue sold out before release at Diamond Comics.
The book is going back to second print and it looks sick! Spread_01_2ndprint_Michael_Adams_and_Kyle_Strahm
The Spread #1 2nd Print comes out August 6, 2014 and is pre-order-able.

  1. My copies of Outcast, the corners are pretty chewed up. I hate to ask for replacements because its not the type of person I am. Plus now they are limiting them.
At least my copies of spread look pristine. I was so happy even only having 4 copies.
Damn oversize books should not be allowed out of the shop if they can’t print them right. Because the print error like dogears only get worse in transport.

      1. I felt bad doing so and even with the huge print run I asked for a replacement for 2 of my 5. They responded within hours and are mailing out 2 replacements 2day ups. So yes they fixed things right up. This is only my 2nd complaint in many years, the other was a simple 2 comics got mixed up that was very easy mistake to make. They fixed that in a hurry as well.
It’s no big deal I supposed 6$ worth of books + ship. I mean its peanuts to the overall $$$$ I throw at them.
I really appreciate the service they provide.

      1. When they’re that thick, the publishers should just consider a spine as if it were a graphic novel. But then again, it doesn’t matter to Marvel or any other publisher if these are in 9.8 or 7.0 condition, they have their retail price and don’t bother with the secondary market, it would sort of unfair if they did.
I actually managed to snag a few ASM #1 with little corner damage, but it was tedious going through the stacks for sure to get the least damaged.

      2. They do sometimes people like IDW print a phenomenal book quality and their ending issue of locke & key was oversized and they gave it a bindery spine. It is inexcusable in this day of age to be popping out books with damage big dogears rolling marks or whatever have you. If a lesser company like IDW can print a quality book consistent no reason the bigger two can’t or anyone else. It’s inexcusable but yet they will make the excuse profit margin or this or that.
It’s not about bothering with the secondary market, It’s about taking pride in what you produce and producing a good product that has eye appeal and good quality standards. We are 14 years into 2000s and have 3d printers and marvelous technology. No excuse for crap books from out of the printer.
