Man I need money. I need money to buy this book. The Spread combines a couple of things I loved growing up, The Baby Cart Assassin movies, also known as Lone Wolf and Cub, the looks of the Lone Wolf and Cub manga, and John Carpenter’s The Thing (by the way, if you know Swedish, they tell you in the beginning of the movie what is going on, a spoiler without ever knowing it.)
Anyway, with the craziness of the Spread selling out, Blue convention teasers moving for $150, Yellows moving for $400, a black and white Convention Art Teaser hit ebay. It is up to $299.
Black and White Spread Convention Art Teaser listed here. This is the same seller who has the yellow copy up for $400. Lucky man, he held his copies that were picked up at NYCC last year. And kept them in excellent condition.
The description of the listing says:

This is a rare copy of the SPREAD CONVENTION ART BOOK. The Art book was printed by Kyle Strahm to be distributed at Planet Comicon 2014. Leftovers were sold at Wizard World St Louis later that summer. Only 30 copies of the book were printed, making it extremely rare. According to Strahm, many were sold to passers-by who thought the art “looked cool”, not to comic book collectors.
Spread #1 was released July 9th and sold out immediately. It has been rushed to a second printing.
Like the Yellow Teaser I’m auctioning, this copy of the SPREAD CONVENTION ART BOOK has never been opened or read. It was removed from the printer’s box and immediately bagged and boarded. It contains 9 unlettered, black and white pages from what would become Spread #1, A black and white version of the cover of Spread #1 and a full-color poster inside, also the cover of what would become Spread #1.
Photos from Kyle Strahm’s facebook page are included in this auction that show him selling it at conventions. The photo of the inside liner notes showing “30 copies printed” is from my own personal copy, not the copy up for sale.
Don’t miss this opportunity. This book is incredibly rare!
There you go. The last piece of the Spread puzzle up for grabs.
Why did he scan the black&white and the yellow is 1 photo with no zoom.
He has them I know. I don’t know why he did it the way he did.
I see the the prices are going up on this comic book do you guys think this book will cool down what are your thoughts
If more fans jump on, I can only see this one going up in value as it gains more popularity. Plus Anthony has already hinted the print run will likely make it harder to come by once all the local shops sell out, making it more appealing. To me, buying extra copies when you find them might be a small price gamble that might pay for itself down the road. 🙂
