News is starting to pop up on the “potential prequel” spin off previously announced. While it would be nice if characters in the show are pulled from the comic, it looks like the characters are new creations.
TVline is reporting the following as the potential characters:
SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.
CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.
NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.
NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.
ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.
ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.
Or is it the same Andrea but maybe a married name? Idk if she was married in the show or not or whether they ever touched on it. Seems like they woulda used a different name as to avoid any potential confusion. What’s her 1st appearance in the comics?
that is a good spec there. Why would they make the name so similar to an existing character. Her first appearance is issue 2
I’m feeling more strongly it’s her. Look at the description of her, sounds like there one in the same. She was one of my favs on the show and I imagine when they killed her off I wasn’t the only one baffled they did.
The Andrea in the comics and in the current show is a late 20 something lawyer clerk, never married or at least never mentioned.
Current TV show she’s a mid 30 something Civil Rights lawyer. Never married, at least never mentioned if she was.
Her real 1st app is in issue 3 . She’s in the background of 1 panel in issue #2.
Official first appearance is #2 from what I recall reading.
This new potential tv series takes place before the outbreak? I hope it’s not just going to show another group of survivors. We kinda already have that show.
To my knowledge it is after the outbreak, not before.
So more of the same? I definitely won’t be watching if that’s the case. A bunch of survivors struggling to stay alive. How creative and new that is.
