Trade Waiting: Spread

Here is another chance to read on of the favorite series on comicsheatingup.net, Spread. Spread is the story of No and Hope in a post apocalyptic waste land where a “The Thing” like creature inhabits people, animals, the land, and what ever, and they are not even the most dangerous things out there.
The Gory and over the top book is written by Justin Jordan and illustrated by Kyle Strahm. It is a fun tribute to the horror genre and mixes the best elements of “Lone Wolf and Cub” and “The Thing.”
The “Spread” TPB is out this Wednesday for $14.99 but can be pre-ordered for less online.
Worth the read.

  1. I got this issue initially to do a quick flip and after the initial interest of the ‘action’ figure variant and i so wanted to love this series but the delay between issue 4 and 5 was inexcusable. Series is too delayed and personally average to be hit. Reckon it’ll be cancelled (if it ever gets to) at #12. I’ve dropped it after my initial order upto #7 ends. People should be reading Nailbiter or Rumble both have far better art, story and promise.

    1. I agree that people should be reading both Rumble and Nailbiter, but wouldn’t say the art is better. Art being subjective, I think each of the artists on each of the books captures the feel for what the series intends. Kyle Strahm’s art fits the gory details that goes into the book we’ll. other books the breaks too. While I do hate to wait, it is still on the top of my read pile when it comes out.

      1. The delays this one has is no way near the delays Mark Millar is known for… I can tolerate a month or two between issues.. but when you start talking 6-12 months between issues, that’s just ridiculous.

      Says you.

    3. IMO if you’re buying initially for a quick flip, then your probably aren’t going to like it. I got it initially for the art…and was glad it had the story to follow. I got a signed NYCC variant a couple of weeks ago for my PC. Spread is great!

  2. I love this series. Always the first book to read when it comes out. I dropped nailbiter over this one and have enjoyed reading it every time. Good story good art and good series by far.

  4. Spread > rumble and nailbiter.
To be honest southern bastards is by far the best of the bunch from image in 2014. And Spread was really kickin until the delays which slowed it down and then people forgot how good it really is. Any one really know what happened? I’m going to blame diamond.
