Image announced today that they were sending out Black and White Variants for all retailers who ordered at least 0 copies of The Walking Dead. That’s right, they didn’t even need to order a copy (but let’s be honest, how many of the 3,000 comic shops in the US order 0 copies of the hit book) in order to qualify for it.
Image Comics/Skybound is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for any comics retailer who orders at least zero copies of THE WALKING DEAD #150. Participating retailers who meet the minimum of zilch orders will receive one free variant featuring art by series artist, Charlie Adlard. This very special Retailer Appreciation variant will be a black and white version of Adlard’s Cover A and will grace the cover of the landmark, anniversary issue of THE WALKING DEAD, which will feature 30 pages of pulse-pounding story for only $2.99. In this 150th issue, Rick Grimes finds himself… betrayed. –
The Image Comics Website posted earlier.
There is currently only one copy of the The Walking Dead #150 Retailer Exclusive up for sale. As there are many collectors of The Walking Dead, I am not sure how many copies will actually make it up for sale.

  1. Since it is too late to call I just sent an email to my main comic shop asking if I could get this and how much, if no one else has asked first. Fingers crossed !!!!!

    1. That would have been pretty funny. You would have had all these stores place no initial orders, then come back and place a reorder after they got their book.

      1. Yeah but it was announced after most orders already taken.. so you’d likely see a bunch of stores trying to cancel their orders to get one, only then ordering them later. 🙂

      1. I just called my main Shop and spoke with the owner and he said I’m first in line no one’s asked before me he’s just going to figure out the price first. Now I always said my limit for a single issue floppy comic was $20 but I have gone as high as $35. I am willing to go higher on this but I’m not sure how high, hopefully it won’t be too high.
