Another great day is upon us like every week, new comic book day but this week, It’s charity week, so be sure to check out all the great sketches we are auctioning off to raise money for Larime Taylor’s wife Sylv, who is battling cancer. If you can’t bid on some awesome art, you can also donate directly at https://www.gofundme.com/ps6erqqm
You can see all the charity auctions by visiting Larime's Charity Auctions
Now, on with this weeks picks.
DC/Vertigo Pick:
Detective Comics #49 (DC) Cover B – Neal Adams cover art. Yes, a must pick up for any Batman and Neal Adams fan.
Marvel Pick:
Spider-Man #1 (Marvel) – Miles takes over. He has is fan base. Yes, I know there’s a new Deadpool book out but I think this one will hold up long term since there will be a bazillion Deadpool Mercs for Money out there. I’m sure this one will be high on the print list as most Marvel #1 are but will likely fall short of Deadpool.
Honorable Mentions: Grab the Micheal Cho variants coming out if you can, pretty slick art work I must say.
I also must mention that the Spidey series has had some of the sweetest regular covers. #3 like #2 is just a sweet looking cover. I’ve been picking these up for the covers alone.
Indie Pick of the Week:
Voracious #1 (Danger Zone) – “Jurassic Park meets Top Chef!” Already selling out online, limited print run and it’s a chef who travels back in time to prepare dinosaurs? Hmmm..
The Other Picks:
Walking Dead #151 (Image) – A new story arc, a call to arms. Looks like Rick and company are heading to war.
Paper Girls #5 (Image) – It’s BKV.. it’s strange, unique and still very appealing.. I have no idea what’s going on still but I’m still very intrigued. It’s Saga on an acid trip. BKV is a master writer, a must pick up.. do it already if you haven’t.
That’s all I got.. now go bid on some sketches to help save a life while possibly winning some cool art!

  1. I normally wouldn’t bid so high on a comic like walking dead 115 but I threw caution to the wind and bid $200. I know it’s going to a good cause and hope we can help out his family.

    1. Having the comics in hand…. it’s the one I want myself. I fell in love with the Terry Moore sketch as well.
