Kickstarter Spotlight: Margot Intergallectic Trash Collector Uprising

I have mentioned my love for Kickstarters in the past. Here is a fun little book on Kickstarter. Jim Whiting has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the second issue of his self-published series, Margot Intergallactic Trash Collector. He previously funded the first issue successfully and is now working on getting the second issue out in September.

The first book, The Hand of Glom came out earlier this year and now Whiting is doing the follow up issue Uprising. The Kickstarter for the second issue is very easily approachable. For $10, you can get the new issue, Uprising, and the first issue, The Hand of Glom.

Try flying around the universe picking up trash, all while working for an evil corporation. In Uprising, Margo is sent in to defuse an uprising, taken hostage and blamed for the pollution destroying the planet. The space-trash corporation headquarters are under attack by a sentient virus and a time rift has been opened in the Delta quadrant. Who knew trash collecting could be so dangerous!

So, Why an Integalactic Trash Collector?
My Dad, Uncles, and Grandfather were all rubbish men, and as a kid, I would often work on the truck with them to earn money to buy comics. I grew up wanting to draw comics and started as soon as I could work a pencil. In pursuit of my dream, I moved to NYC to attended the School of Visual Arts. There I found others like myself, and together, we clawed our way into print.
Over the years, I often imagined a female protagonist who picks up trash (sound familiar?) in space. She would face danger and fight hostile aliens, all the while working for a corrupt company. And so, Margo Intergalactic Trash collector was born. Her story has grown and expanded in ways I could never have foreseen.
I was born in the silver age of comics, but am creating in the digital age of comics, and loving every minute of it!”
What is the print run on the book?
The print run on issue 1 and 2 are both 1000 and the variant covers are 150 each
What is the status of the funding?
With 17 days left to go the Kickstarter has raised $1856 of the $2000 goal.
