  1. rush diehard says:

get your MISPRINTED mighty thor 700 tomorrow….i wonder if marvel will recall these??
you heard it here first. period.

  2. rush diehard says:

i wonder if it is on all copies. doubt it.

  3. WM says:

What are you talking about misprinted Thor #700 ????

  4. A. King says:

Went to my main shop today and I dropped Grass Kings and Batman. I’m going to drop a couple more titles next time I go, that stack today was way too big.

    • Anthony says:

Dude. My stack of shame (unread comics) is about a long box now.

      • Brennan says:

Yeah, I’m not to that point yet, but it will eventually get there. Every week there are a few books I can’t get to before the new ones come out and my unread pile is starting to grow. I am beginning the culling of titles this week starting with Gwar and Green Lanterns.

      • agentpoyo says:

Besides the long box and a half I have of comics I’m behind on.. I logged into my Marvel account and it says I have 350 or so books that are unread still.. 😦

      • Brennan says:

You guys are really making me feel better. Thank you. This adulting stuff is busy.

      • agentpoyo says:

So much adulting.. my wife is working again (I think it’s safe to say it now, but she’s Executive Producer’s Assistant on Fear The Walking Dead)… so I will likely only see her on the weekends, until June or July.. something like that. So my days are spent working from couch, then sometimes I go onsite to a client, have to pick up kids from school and uber them around to dance or kung fu classes while trying to work more from whatever Wifi is available.. then I get home to usually work more while trying to cook dinner, make sure they’re doing their home work, cleaning rooms, doing chores… aorund 8:30 they kids going to bed, wife has been home for about an hour but I’m usually passed out on the couch or soon enough passed out on couch while watching some MLB playoffs and or now NBA…

The worst thing about all this adulting.. my kids don’t even tip me for driving them around and picking them up from school… sigh!

      • Brennan says:

It’s a wonder you have any time for this stuff at all!

      • Brennan says:

Oh and let the Mrs know they did a bang up job with this last season of fear. It’s better than regular walking dead now.

      • agentpoyo says:

Heh, well, she just started on next season theyre about to air. I stopped watching like after the episode where Travis dies…. Not sure if that was season 2 or 3….

      • Brennan says:

In that case, tell her not to mess it up!

    • Winton Wei says:

      Grass Kings is so good…

      • agentpoyo says:

I dropped it to pick up TPB’s.. I’m starting to do that with a bunch of books. Pick up #1 and or #2, stop picking up and wait for Trades.. saves me money and I get more reading in one sitting. But yeah, I enjoyed Grass Kings #1… looking forward to reading the rest… one day!

      • A. King says:

I like it too, but I have got to cut some fat.

  5. Richard Guevara says:

Did you all see DC Is coming out with vertical fold out covers in December for some of the New Age of Heroes stuff? Wonder how long until we see more of these type of covers. Think it’s pretty neat.

  6. Brennan says:

    Hello for the week!
Looks like it’s already busier around here this week so that’s good!

Trying to cut back some titles starting this week, it is never an easy decision for me but it must be done. It’s getting to be too expensive most weeks and I can’t even get to all of them in the week before the new ones come out. I am cutting out the titles that haven’t been as good and I have only been continuing them for the collection’s sake…..I gotta quit that!

    This week I am getting:

    Batman #33
    Batman:The Drowned
    Cable #150
Deadpool v Old Man Logan #1
    Invincible #141
    Justice League #31
    NIghtwing #31
    Spectacular Spider Man #5
    Shirtless Bear Fighter #5
    Superman #33
The Mighty Thor #700 – Zdarsky Variant if it is cover price, regular if it is not 🙂
    The Wild Storm #8

    On the weekend I grabbed:
Seven to Eternity #3 and #4
The Autumnlands: Tooth and Claw #3 Skottie Young Variant
    The Red Death T- Shirt

    Dropping:
    Green Lanterns
    Gwar

    • Brennan says:

I got pleasantly surprised by my shop’s manager with a Deadpool lenticular today. Woohoo!
I know the quality sucks on these but I have a thing for lenticular covers and have been getting all the ones I can. Grabbed up a bunch of this week’s as well.

  7. Mark McAlister says:

Anybody know anything about Kid Lobotomy #1? I got the gold variant for cover just for fun, but hadn’t heard any chatter about it from a speculation POV…

  8. Will says:

    Great but costly week.

Grabbed Thor 700 Hughes. Luckily grabbed 1/3 at my LCS
    Batman 33 a and b
    Spider Gwen 25
    Hulk 709
Deadpool vs Old Man Logan 1:25 variant.
Maestros 1 (sadly no gold logos to be found)

    In mail…
    Various lenticulars
    Realm 2 all variants
    Kill the Minotaur back issues

And my gem…Midtown had a few Spider Gwen 1 Hughes variants do picked that one up for the PC.

  9. Eric R says:

Very light week for me in terms of pick kups:
    Realm #2 (X2 B&W Walking Dead tribute)
    Captain Phasma (1:25 variant)
    Kill or Be Killed

    Spec Picks for the week:
Was able to get about 7 copies of Darth Vader (volume 2) #2 1st prints for less than cover last week as well as Darth Vader #3 (only 4 copies). Can’t believe how fast all of these sold! All in the $9-$11 range with only 1 or each left. If you are not reading this series, it is very good! Darth Vader Year One! One of my favorite series to read right now.

    Good hunting everyone!

  10. Will Suarez says:

Also, didn’t see any of the misprint Thors…will be interesting to see if that was pulled this morning. Not one single copy of Infernoct was available at my LCS…going to have to go to ebay for that one it seems.

  11. Ken M. says:

Looking forward to November when my pull list is a little shorter. No copies of Batman: The Drowned to be had, even though it was on my pull list. Apparently people are waiting at the door when the store opens to scarf up whatever hot items are coming out for the week. No Maestros, Dead of Winter or Made Men, either. But, it isn’t like I didn’t spend any money, so here’s the list:

I’m on a wait-list for a book I saw pop-up on a store’s FB feed. Currently, someone else has it on layaway, but that person ran into $ problems so may possibly back out of the deal. The store is suggesting I front that person’s 15% retail restocking fee to speed up the process, but that sounds pretty shady to me.

    • Anthony says:

Retail restocking fee on a comic book? I get having to pay to put it back after you reserved it but if the guy never pays you should not have to pay a 15% premium

    • Brennan says:

Ah, the good old we don’t want you as our customer fee.
You either accept returns or you don’t. You either hold books or you don’t.
Reshelving fee, how about my kiss my ass fee?

    • Stephen Hale says:

My LCS does payment plans as well, but the downpayment which is 20% is non refundable. So that should cover their fee, and you pay the retail price. Seems shady.

    • agentpoyo says:

Not to sound shady but if you have to layaway comic books, perhaps you should rethink your spending habits and finances.

If I suddenly found myself broke, poor, no income.. you better bet the first thing I do is stop buying comic books.

  13. Bryan says:

Midtown still has the Zdarsky Thor 700 and with no limit on number you can by. Any guesses as to what this means? Could be their’s don’t have an error? Or maybe that it isn’t as big an error as expected?

My pickups from the LCS –
    SpiderGwen 25 A+B
    Cable 150
    Batman 33B
    Slots 1A
    Realm 2A
    Crosswind 1A
Ragman Vol 1 #4 and 5 to finish the set
    Web of Spidey 97

    Online
    Thor 700 Zdarsky x3
    Dark Days Forge

    • agentpoyo says:

If Marvel did no recall on the Thor misprint, then honestly we can treat is as no big deal more than likely. Until there’s a recall (which is probably too late now), then it’s just a Thor book with a particular store getting a little extra advertising they didn’t have to pay for. 🙂

  14. Amazing Spider-Man #789 Lenticular
    Spider-Gwen #25 regx3 & lenticular
    Infernoct #1 reg
    Maestros #1 reg
    Harley #30 Cho
    Batman White Knight 1A & 1B

skipped Archies & Rugrats because Poyo said they’re no good lol

    • agentpoyo says:

Haha.. I don’t know.. Rugrats, I semi enjoyed that cartoon long ago but I was also a little older at the time. It just seems like if they did a comic say, two decades ago. Just don’t think they’ll be much movement on this book. Pick it up to read if you’re a die hard fan.

As for Archies new original size toilet bowl readers digest type book.. meh, by the time it’s worth anything, we’ll all be dead already. Like Sheldon says from Big Bang when asked where are the Archies.. “In the bedrooms of 10 year old girls where they belong!”

      • JayClue says:

I read Archie’s Digest Magazines when I was younger. I recently sold my childhood stash of about 80 books for $100 on feebay. 😁

      • agentpoyo says:

        Nice..

      • True I’m just kidding with you. I’ve picked up some of the Archie stuff like the reboot #1, Riverdale, and Betty & Veronica, but yea at some point can only spec too much on them..I think you’re right, years down the road Riverdale may be worth something too.

  15. Stephen Hale says:

Haven’t stopped at my Pull List LCS, but did stop at another one, and found to Kill the Minotaur #1s First Print at cover price. Sweet!

    • agentpoyo says:

Yeah, I have a shop that still has a few.. I passed them up, no real movement yet on secondary market despite the news of the option media deal.

  16. A. King says:

The only in store pickup for me today was The Drowned. When I got home after cleaning out that monster I call my pullbox, I had an email from TFAW saying that they were getting ready to ship me a package of wait for it……………. “61” comics I pre-ordered. What am I doing?

    • Alana says:

lol, I recommend switching to older keys instead of buying $200 worth of new comics every week. When that gets boring move to sending your comics to graders with your weekly comic money that’s where I’m at these days.

      • agentpoyo says:

I’ve been thinking about that as well. Been thinking about cutting down new modern books, even reads to start collecting the older books.. 80s and prior..

      • schweizerdavid says:

I’m there now. Just sent some books to CBCS. Cut back on new books. Picking up older books.

      • A. King says:

        I don’t spend that much in a week…….in a month yeah.

      • Will says:

Seeing how much I’ve spent the last few months, I think I’m reaching the point where I need to stop picking up everything I want because I can. I like the idea of a few number 1s then keys/variants that I may want. Everything else, not necessary since they are just taking up space. I do have a few titles that I’d like monthly, however.

  17. JCH says:

Picked up Batman, Realm 2 (B&W cover) and the Dark Hammer Spin-off (both covers… Mignola nailed it!). Some bad news from The Comic Mint though … sounds like their shipment of Dark Nights 3 Mattina variants had printer blemishes (B&W and Virgin only) so the shipment of these variants will be delayed as The Comic Mint works with DC and Diamond to get replacements… wondering if Sad Lemon and other shops who offered these variants are in the same boat?

    • JCH says:

Oh, but I did get a confirmation that my Dark Nights Metal 1 Mattina Ultimate is getting shipped… yay!

    • agentpoyo says:

I saw that email too. That’s nice of them to send them back to get replaced. From the pics they provided, most shops would not have cared and still sold them as NM. Those Comic Mint people are great guys and gals.

      • JCH says:

100% agree… they’ve been awesome! Sad Lemon Comics has also been amazing to deal with. I received a set of Babyteeth 3 Torque variants that were damaged in shipping… sent Simon some pics and a note and within minutes got a response that a fresh shipment was on the way… replaced the entire set for free.

  18. A. King says:

I just noticed that Midtown has the first and second prints for the Merciless listed for sale next week, and the second print of the Drowned.

    • Richard Guevara says:

Those orders second prints on those comics came out super early. It was really weird because the first prints didn’t even come out at the time but stores already had to place orders for the second print.

      • agentpoyo says:

When this occurs, that means the book sold out at Diamond before it was even shipped from Diamond. So the demand caused a second printing and that’s why and how you can get second prints being shipped the week after or the week of the first printings.

  20. Ken M. says:

Not sure if it was mentioned here at all, but it looks like DC’s The Signal series has been cancelled, or postponed at least. The second and third issues show as being cancelled at Midtown, I didn’t look for the first issue, though. I think this was a Metal tie-in, but too sure on that.
