Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 10/10/18

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the shelves, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the nest shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 10/10/18:

It has been a long two weeks on the road. Baltimore and then New York Comic Cons. I have to tell you, it wipes a guy out. Another big week this week, with a lot of cool books. Her are the ones I am feeling for the week. A lot of “cover” heavy books with flip potential, move fast though, they can drop as quick as they rise.

Killer B’s
Catwoman #4 Artgerm – Just a great looking cover. Best of the series so far.

Redhood and the Outlaws #27 Yasmine Putri Cover – Sold out online. Selling for up to $15 shipped. New costume full appearancce.

The Halloween One
Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1 – Horror in the DCU. High cover price means it will be under ordered.

For the PC
Supergirl #23 Artgerm Foil – Honestly, only if I can find a decent one. I love Artgerm covers and this finishes off his Supergirl run.

The Risque One
Unnatural #4 Variant – More risque cover, but the risque covers on this series have been doing well.

Small Press Pick of the Week
Phantasmagoria #1 – I love El Torres work. It is October so that means bring on the horror.

The Stealth Picks of the Week
Venom #7 – New story line. Also, I hear there is a Secret Variant on this one.

What If Pubisher #1 – This one is a really cool story with a bunch of new characters/first appearance of alternate characters. What If’s tend to be under ordered and this could be the stealth hit of the week.

The Pick of the Week
Suicide Squad #47 Mattina Cover – Selling out online and being listed for multiple times cover price already. (Sales as high as $22 shipped).

And in case you didn’t see it, here is this week’s New Comic Spec Review video

  1. Salty says:

Last space race, Infinite dark and Albert Einstein time Mason seem interesting as well but I haven’t seen any interior art yet.

  2. A. King says:

I stopped buying Unnatural after #2.

  3. D-Rog says:

The DC cursed comic cavalcade seems to be rising, sales up to $20 shipped.

Will try to seek out the venom secret variant tomorrow, as well as the red hood b cover.

  4. JayClue says:

Im really liking that Mattina Harley. I cant wait to see it in person. Looks like Im going to have a busy day at the shops tomorrow.

  5. Jason Zimmerman says:

“Selling for” or “Listings for”? I think there should be more clarification for potentially Hot books and covers. I see a lot of duds come out of these once the Wednesday listings/undercutting comes out.

    • Anthony says:

Undercutting is sadly part of the game now. Too many wanting the fasted lowest dollar they can make. The books I quoted have actual sales at those prices.

      • patrick says:

Undercutting is crazy, especially when the lowest listing of whatever is $30 and the next person lists for $21. All they had to do was put $29.99, and the goal is accomplished.

      • Anthony says:

I totally get what you are saying. No idea why people race to the bottom, especially on the “hot now” books. Two weeks in, sure start to lower your price, but on day one, why? You can take a $50 bill tomorrow or a $20 bill today, which would you rather have?
