A look ahead to January and February new titles

We are always looking ahead to new series coming out in the upcoming months. Here are a few (of the many) new books coming out in January and February worth keeping an eye out for:
In no particular order (other than alphabetical that is)…
Ei8ht Dark Horse Feb 18, 2015- Fan favorite Rafael Albuquerque’s new book. Welcome to the Meld, an inhospitable dimension in time where Joshua, a chrononaut, finds himself trapped. With no memory or feedback from the team of scientists that sent him, he can’t count on anything but his heart and a stranger’s voice to guide him to his destiny.
Dying and the Dead Image Comics January 14, 2015- Another fan favorite, Jonathan Hickman, launching a new book. A murder at a wedding reveals a fifty year-old secret. At great cost, a man with a dying wife is given the opportunity to save her. A lost tribe is reborn in another time. Seemingly disparate events that force relics from the Greatest Generation to come together for one last hurrah.
Ivar Timewalker #1 Valiant January 21, 2015- New Mini-series from Valiant. Strong core of followers for the publisher. The past, present, and future of our universe are about to meet an untimely end, and only the mysterious Ivar Anni-Padda can prevent all three from collapsing in on themselves. Unstuck in time, and pursued by enemies simultaneously across every moment of his time-lost life, can the man called Timewalker save everything that ever was, is, and will be?
Return Of Living Deadpool #1 Marvel February 04, 2015- Another Deadpool Mini-series. These end up doing ok on the secondary market as the tend to sell out and reprint. Last year, Cullen Bunn brought us NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEADPOOL, the hit tale of the Merc with the Mouth trapped in the zombie apocalypse. In the end, our hero found a ‘cure’ of sorts to this horrible outbreak-any zombie that ate Deadpool transformed…into another Deadpool. And they lived happily ever after? Not so fast, as Cullen Bunn returns, joined by the amazing artwork of Nicole Virella, to let us know that wandering hordes of Deadpools might just be worse than flesh-hungry walking corpses.
Silk #1 Marvel February 18, 2015- Spinning out of the recent relaunch of Amazing Spider-man, Silk has quickly gained attention as a character. Expect to see more of her in the future. Could make your Amazing Spider-man #4 more valuable.
Suiciders #1 DC Comics February 25, 2015- New horror series from Lee Bermejo. In the post-apocalyptic city of New Angeles, killing isn’t just a crime – it’s entertainment. When the ‘big one’ finally hit the West Coast, Los Angeles was left in ruins. And when the U.S. government decided to cut the city loose, things went from bad to worse. To survive, L.A. did what it does best: It turned survival into entertainment. Now, thirty years later, the city of New Angeles is thriving once more thanks to the blood sport known as SUICIDERS – a TV series that combines the spectacle of hand-to-hand combat with elaborate, high-tech obstacles that test each competitor’s ability to survive. But these competitors have an edge: They’ve been freakishly enhanced by drugs and technology. The results are both marvelous and monstrous, as the man called The Saint begins to rise above his fellow Suiciders. SUICIDERS is a dark, post-apocalyptic epic that tells the story of a strange, brutal world.
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1 Marvel January 07, 2015- Marvel’s goofy darling gets her own series. Lot’s of fan interest in the character. Wolverine, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Thanos: There’s one hero that’s beaten them all-and now she’s got her own ongoing series! (Not that she’s bragging.) That’s right, you asked for it, you got it, it’s SQUIRREL GIRL! (She’s also starting college this semester.) It’s the start of a brand-new series of adventures starring the nuttiest and most upbeat super hero in the world!

    1. Holy F*ck is F*cking Horrible. It’ll probably piss off the Churches, which is always aiming high right? But outside of that, it has no redeeming value at all , poorly written and even worse art. Buy it if you like terrible stories and 3rd grade art. Seriously, its bad. I know.

      1. A book making fun of religion? Sounds like my type of book. But if it’s just the same old “making fun of” stories.. I’ll probably pass. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Some neat titles coming up. What do you think of Bitch Planet? That comes out next week. It’s intriguing, but I’m on the fence about it.

    1. I’m going to check that one out in the store and if it looks really solid I’ll pick one up. Not sure I see it flying off the shelves.

      1. Be careful on this one. EOSV will remain the one to own for the long haul. I am certain the 1:100 will fetch quite a bit and then drop a ton.

      1. Yikes! Preselling at $150 and up for the 1:100 Gwen!?! Definitely passing on that one, much rather have a EOSV.
