Spread #1 print run

Being in the right place at the right time has it’s advantages. That’s all I will say. I have been hinting at the print run numbers for Spread #1 for a couple of weeks now and promised not to say anything until closer to the Diamond sales reports coming out.
Now that July has ended, and we are closer I feel confident in mentioning the print run.
Needless to say, many new Image #1’s have come in with high print run numbers in the 40,000 and up range. Spread #1 is different not only in the unique feel and look of the book, but the fact it was not a super high print run number, no matter how hard we tried to force everyone into buying it.
The print run for Spread #1 came in at around 24,000 copies +/- . Needless to say the exact number is not out but this was the number overheard. There was a very small over print and the print run was mostly what was ordered. This is said to include the Spread #1 Third Eye Variant and the Spread #1 Phantom Variant
Make sure to pick up at least one copy of the über cool Spread #1 second print. From what I heard, this book (still not at liberty to say its print run) is a fraction of that. Think large variant or exclusive size and you would be in the ball park.

  1. Thanks Tony for the intel. I believe the variants are 1000 each, but I may be mistaken. 22,000 is a nice number. I’m a little bit surprised it was as low as that being an Image book that looked amazing from the get go of previews, and issue #1 did not disappoint at all. Awesome read.

  2. This is worthy of the being the best book of 2014. If you haven’t gotten on broad yet you should. Copies can still be picked up at an affordable price. Do it before they become out of reach.

    1. Best book of 2014 is strong strong sentiment. It’s still too early for me to agree, but I wont rule it out. This book spoke to me before I even had a chance to read it. I speculated big on this looney fact alone, and was surprised when the story held up. Time will tell if it continues to. And on that note Cover for issue #4 looks insane.

  3. I agree, it is a great book with only a first issue. Right now I have Enormous in the top spot for me, then Outcast, and then Spread. This being for brand new books that is. All of these writers can develop stories and characters perfectly.

    1. Same here… Good start, but it may not even be in the top 5 books from just Image for me by years end. Southern Bastards, Nailbiter, Deadly Class, Outcast would all still be higher for me right now… Wicked & Devine, COWL, Low and Trees are showing as much promise to me as this title and we have yet to see titles like Wytches, Intersect and The Humans. JMHO which I reserve the right to change at any time. 🙂 Good book tho and looking forward to Wed to see what’s next.

  4. I do know that ( Justin generously let me know Thursday as I was doing research for my weekly pick )
Spread #1 second print is 5,000
    Spread #2 is 17,000
    I’ll guess that #1 was 35k

  5. Bummer, I thought I preordered Spread 2nd print. Not the case, anyone know of any sites they are still available for preorder? Was after a few in hopes of getting a 9.8 worthy one slabbed for my collection.

  6. Still seeing the 1st print @ my lcs. Speaking of which should I be worried if I accumulating more back stock then some of them. Worst case scenario of have toxic firewood for the winter.

    1. What type of back stock are you talking.
Yah you should be worried, you should sell all of your copies on a single lot for 4$ a piece so you can make 15% at least and get out of doge while you still can!!!!!

    1. He is trying to say He has 4 copies and his LCS has 3. Type of scenario.
But it just reads as a troll post.

  7. I went to an LCS in a small town yesterday and they still had a few Image #1s on their shelves for cover price! smaller towns sometimes aren’t hip to indy comics, so if you’re in need just drive a little bit outside your big city.
