Holy Cow: Wytches #1 print run

Cbr had an exclusive piece today with the print run for Wytches #1 and it is insane.
The combined print run for the first and second prints of Wytches #1 was 92,131. The first print clocked in at 84,992 copies. (Makes the second print seem very desirable as it will be a much lower print run.) The first print sold out at the distributor level, but copies can still be seen in the wild.
Of course, there were several variants added to the mix that helped the print run.
The Wytches #1 NYCC had a print run of 500 copies and sold out instantly at NYCC every day.
The other big one was the Wytches #1 CBLDF Variant which had a print run of 1000 copies.
There were also Wytches #1 Midtown Variant, Wytches #1 Hastings Variant, and Wytches #1 4th World Variant which were (I believe) all 1,000 copies each.
My favorite cover was the Wytches #1 Ghost Variant.

  1. Oh, I had a feeling it would be huge. There are still stacks of these at my local shops. I loved the 4th World Variant (FF fan though) so I’m happy I nabbed two of those. I think I got 3 of the regular covers total.

  2. Huge print run. I better sell off 10 out of the 12 I have. I’ll keep the signed lithograph though, that thing is sweet.

    1. Yeah, I didn’t buy any to flip. I’m holding on for the possible long term gamble pay off hopefully and if not, I didn’t lose too much while sitting on a stack of them.

      1. I think it was convienent timing with the book being optioned right out of the gate. I have a feeling this is something publishers may exploit.

        1. Of course. Publishers print comics to make money. Can’t really blame them for taking advantage at times.. 😉

  3. I got few copies of standard cover & an NYCC going off next weekend to get CGC SS by Snyder & Jock 🙂
I have about 40 copies of standard cover which I am sitting on,
definately think these will come good 🙂

    1. WOW, I thought I had a lot with 10 copies of the first print. I’m in the same boat as you, with the exception of 2 of the B/W phantoms of issue 2 I’ll flip (keeping 1 B/W for myself) I’ll keep all my other covers/copies with me.

    2. That’s a lot. Even if you got them at cover, simply selling them for double cover would put you ahead. 😉
I bought like 3 regular covers and two of the 4th World variants. I’m just gonna hang on for a long while.. I think the real potential is long term depending on media deals, etc. I’ll gamble the extra $9 I spent to have the few extra outside my collection.

    3. I’m mad at myself for balking at pre-ordering the 4th World Variant. But I did score quite a few of the Hastings variants for cover price, so there’s that…
