Canto Under Development as Animated Film Under Westbrook Studios

Thanks to Braainz who posted this in our forums with a link to Deadline of the news.

This Canto title was I think a fan favorite right out of release with it’s original volume released in 2019. Initially seeing some secondary market heat as the first print reportedly had a lot of printer defects that caused spine and other cover issues.

Here’s a snippet from the article at Deadline:

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios have optioned rights to the graphic novel Canto and are adapting the fantasy series as an animated feature.

Co-creator and writer of Canto, David M. Booher is set to write the screenplay and will executive produce the project alongside co-creator and series illustrator Drew Zucker. Westbrook Studios Co-President and Head of Motion Pictures, Jon Mone will produce. Ryan Shimazaki will oversee the project on behalf of Westbrook Studios.

There was a 2nd and 3rd printing of issue #1 along with a ratio variant by Nick Robles.

I’m sure we’ll see some love on the secondary for this series again. So if you got spare copies, now’s the time to sell.
