Wondercon 2024 Wrap Up

Hi CHU Fam, hope life is good for everyone in 2024! CHU visited Anaheim for 2 days to check out Wondercon 2024 over the weekend of March 29th to March 31st. I originally booked this trip assuming you can’t go wrong with a show by Comic-Con International, but at the time I didn’t realize it was Easter weekend….ooops. It wasn’t on Easter weekend the year before, but I decided to keep my plans and make the most of it. Continue reading “Wondercon 2024 Wrap Up”

San Diego Comic Con 2023 Cosplay Gallery

Cosplayers bring the charm to the con scene, making our favorite characters come to life.  It’s fun to see what kind of creativity they will bring and you always see something new.  SDCC is where you see some of the most elaborate costumes. Show them some love in the comments! Continue reading “San Diego Comic Con 2023 Cosplay Gallery”

San Diego Comic Con 2023 Wrap Up

Back at the big show!  CHU attended San Diego Comic-Con 2023 over the week of July 19th.  COVID who?  SDCC was back to pre-pandemic levels of crowding with no restrictions.  The exhibit hall was the most consistently packed it’s been in the Hollywood era.  Likely due to the writer’s strike which announced that actors would join the strike not even a week before the show started.  I estimate that celebrity attendance takes probably 30K attendees off the exhibit floor at any given time; whether they are in many of the large panel rooms or waiting in line to get into one of those rooms.   Continue reading “San Diego Comic Con 2023 Wrap Up”

Wondercon 2023 Wrap Up

CHU’s first visit to Wondercon in Anaheim, CA was over the weekend of March 24th to 26th, 2023.  This convention is run by Comic-Con International and just as well executed as SDCC.  I’ve been wanting to attend this one for many years but it kept landing on Easter weekend, then covid, then restrictions, now we are finally here! Continue reading “Wondercon 2023 Wrap Up”

Tucson Comic Con 2022 Wrap Up

The “rebuilding year” for comic cons is coming to an end as shows are getting their first post pandemic show under their belts.  Tucson Comic Con is one I was excited for as it was my last con before covid hit, the good vibes had to last me almost 2 years before I attended another convention.  TCC took place over Labor Day weekend at the Tucson Convention Center in AZ.  This is becoming one of the most fun shows I regularly attend. Phoenix Fan Fusion 2022 Wrap Up

CHU was at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2022 over the Memorial Day weekend. Finally! After 3 years!  My first returning big con since the pandemic, and overall I would say it was a rebuilding year for this Southwest con.   The guest list was subdued compared to previous events which drew almost sellout crowds.  Not that I’m complaining. I’m happy to see an event of this size finally happen as the last one was in 2019. Continue reading “Phoenix Fan Fusion 2022 Wrap Up”

San Diego Comic-Con SE 2021 Wrap Up

Long time no talk CHU!  I’ve been chomping at the bit to hit up a con since November 2019.  San Diego Comic Con Special Edition took place over the Thanksgiving weekend. Wasn’t sure what it was going to feel like, but once I was inside that specific exhibit hall with all the old SDCC signage it was like no time had passed. Many exhibitors I spoke with viewed this con the same way I did – dipping our toes back in the water before the big show comes back in July. Continue reading “San Diego Comic-Con SE 2021 Wrap Up”
