CHU was at Phoenix Fan Fusion 2022 over the Memorial Day weekend. Finally! After 3 years! My first returning big con since the pandemic, and overall I would say it was a rebuilding year for this Southwest con. The guest list was subdued compared to previous events which drew almost sellout crowds. Not that I’m complaining. I’m happy to see an event of this size finally happen as the last one was in 2019. Welcome to this weeks spec and drek, where we pick the winners each week we think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover. I also dive into the pesky drek, the book you should probably avoid if you can or perhaps not invest so heavily into.

We all know that the majority of media options result into absolutely nothing on the first go round. Think of them as place holders for production companies. They want to grab the latest and greatest in hopes it blows up with popularity.
