Spread #1 2nd printing sold out Spread #2 sold out

It comes as no surprise, especially to people who were not able to grab a copy, but the uber cool Spread #1 2nd printing has sold through it’s roughly 4,000 copies.
The awesome cover design depicting the title’s protagonist, No, as an old style carded action figure sold out before release and instantly jumped up in price.
Spread #1 is going back for a third printing as people clamor to read it. Here is the third print cover, sent to me directly by series artist Kyle Strahm.

Spread #2 also came out Wednesday and suffered the same fate as number 1, selling out before it even hit the shelves. Spread #2 is also getting a reprint, the second print cover image is below.

  1. They’re going to keep selling through subsequent printings if they keep making such cool covers!

      1. Now that I think about it. If they keep doing small print runs CHU will make this go 6th print alone.
        Swamied.

      2. hahaha ok then if this is so. tell them if by some miracle they do get a 6th print. to put some type of easteregg with only the letters CHU somewhere on the cover. Then we can all squirttle ourself with joy knowing the inside joke.

    1. My 3 I preordered from TFAW all came with no issues of black paint being smugged around or whatnot. No issues on my outcast #2 either which is pretty much an all black cover even more so than spread 2nd print.

  2. Image is just doing everything smart these days. They keep print runs to a normal number and they are offering up interesting 2nd prints, instead of confusing reprints with the exact same cover. The future of back issue collecting will not be finding variants, but finding rare 2nd, 3rd or even 4th printings of books.

  3. I’ve visited several local shops this week and each shop either didnt get any or were shorted. Glad I pre-ordered mine. On a side note…I also found out that the convention teaser that I submitted to CGC received a grade of 9.8…so I’m pretty happy ’bout that.

      1. $15.00 modern I am picking up so it’s a $5 fee for pick up I dropped off about 10 books. Will be going to drop off some outcast #1 on Wed those prices are crazy.

  4. Just got an email from Dynamic Forces stating that due to so many copies arriving damaged they limited the orders to 5 copies max. Not surprising since I could only pull 2 worthy of a 9.8 grade at my LCS out of a large stack.

  5. Still floating around my lcs and copies of wool still available. Enormous 2 seems the one flying off shelves.

      1. Sweet I did find clearance out walking dead funko mystery mini for 25 cents each on my rounds pulled a 1/144 chase out of the 8 I bought for 2 dollars.

  6. I ended up with 4 copies worthy of a 9.4+. So I couldn’t be happier that I currently own 1% of the total population these things, and if you take into consideration the number that got damaged, that percentage goes up! Finally one for the good guys! LOL

      1. LMAOOOOO I guess I was never very good at math. Either way I’m infinitely jealous of the yellow variant, but I’m sure my wife would be looking for a new husband if I threw down the cash for that one.

  7. I’ll be at Baltimore too. thinking of getting my Afterlife with Archie #1’s graded. I see good things for that series.

    1. Sounds like your lcs did a good job preordering the book. Kyle Strahm and Justin Jordan have both mentioned the print run on this book to Larry and myself and both have said it is in the 4000+/- range. It is selling for around $10. Sounds like you have a good chance at making money. As Drew Bentley always says, it is scarcity and demand that causes a book to rise in price and this has both.

      1. Got all 21 copies in the mail yesterday. It felt like an early Christmas. Ordered from multiple sources and all came in looking wonderful. Time to make that $$ now

    2. Also noticed while reading Spread #2 that it has a nice preview of God Hates Astronauts. Obviously not a first appearance but still pretty cool. It’s definitely a quirky book
