Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #12
We haven’t seen Mary Jane Watson since #1, but that’s about to change with this almost ALL-MJ issue!
MJ saves Spidey, helps Aunt May and basically saves the day. Face it, readers, you just hit the jackpot. Rated T.
MJ certainly has her fans and this cover might get them to seek this book out, particularly if she obtains some spider powers and becomes a hero like the solicitation claims.
Could be a marketing gimmick or could turn into a real spec book. We’ll just have to wait and see once the book hits store shelves (or Anthony spoils it for us ahead of time).
House of X #4 (of 6) and House of X #5 (of 6)
Xavier’s dream turns deadly for some of his students as they fight back against the humans’ plan to eliminate them.
Superstar writer Jonathan Hickman (FANTASTIC FOUR, AVENGERS, SECRET WARS) continues his reshaping of the X-Universe alongside Young Gun artist Pepe Larraz (EXTERMINATION, AVENGERS). The Future of the X-Men begins here! Rated T+
Let’s just hope Hickman’s reshaping of the X-Men is worth it. These books will likely have huge print runs since all other X related books are to be canceled or ceased for this sort of reboot of these classic characters.
I must admit, I stopped reading them several years ago so this might be a nice reboot to kick off a whole new era of X-Men.
Lots of issues being produced for a 6 issue series with lots of variants. Pick the covers you like best or just stick with cover A. If one does heat up, you’ll likely have plenty of time to pick up a few before they completely sell out and blow up, if that happens.
As the war with Shadow Base comes to a brutal, bloody end, Bruce Banner has a choice to make.
And the repercussions of that choice will have an effect on every single life on this planet… …including the IMMORTAL HULK. Rated T+
You know, Immortal Hulk #23 also is in this months Previews and as the cover is pretty cool, this one for issue #24 is just pure awesomeness.
Even if I wasn’t reading Immortal Hulk and the story wasn’t that great, I’d buy this one just for the cover. I suppose this series is so hot they’re getting Ewing to work some overtime to pump these out twice a month now.
SUPERSTARS JASON AARON & ESAD RIBIC CONCLUDE THEIR EPIC THOR STORY!
The creators of the legendary THOR: GOD OF THUNDER series that kicked off one of the most epic runs in Marvel history are back together for one last ride with the almighty Lord of Asgard!
Seven years ago, Jason and Esad introduced the Thor of the far future, All-Father of a broken realm and a dying universe, as he stood in battle against the Butcher of Gods, wielder of All-Black the Necrosword. Now that nefarious blade has returned, in the hands of Thor’s all-time greatest enemy – his brother, Loki – for one final, cataclysmic showdown. Behold the book no comics fan should miss – the celebration of the end of a truly Marvelous era. Rated T+
The only downside to this book I see so far is that it’s a 4 issue series. The team who made me a Thor fan are finishing it up in this new series. Sign me up and take my money. I might have slacked off and haven’t read a lot of the Thor series Aaron worked on since God of Thunder but these two could keep on pumping out Thor together and I’ll keep on buying it. I have high hopes for this one.
ALL-WOLVERINE ISSUE! First, Wolverine’s decades-long battle with demon the Truth comes to a bloody and brutal finale!
Then, head back into the digital world of the .EXE/men to meet their version of Logan! Rated T+
We saw a first appearance that made waves in issue #6.
Perhaps we get some continuation in these pages but I’m not holding out any hope as the solicitation doesn’t indicate we’ll be getting anymore goodies or back stories for the new gal with claws. If there is any more continuation of the new gal, that’s going to be in Marvel Comics Presents #7.
But for those who have been picking these up, it’s a no brainer to keep picking these up. There could be other stories with some surprises.
SPIDER-SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL OR BIG 250th ANNIVERSARY ISSUE? That’s right, it’s our 250th issue and it’s Miles Morales’ birthday! But YOU’RE getting all the gifts! A mystery dating back to Miles’ first appearance? Answered! A terrifying villain destined to become one of Miles’ greatest adversaries? Revealed!
Special guests, like maybe Peter Parker: Spider-Man? YOU KNOW IT!
All busting out of 25 pages by main series storytellers Saladin Ahmed and Javier Garrón, PLUS a bonus back-up by Ahmed and a special guest artist delving into the history of your new favorite character, STARLING! Your FOMO is well-founded! DON’T MISS IT! Rated T
It’s a huge anniversary issue and they even used the dreaded FOMO tag in the solicitation. When solicitations claim a first appearance and surprise that was hidden since the beginning, is it all marketing hype? Could be.
Nevertheless, it’s a book to watch as we all know when they solicit firsts they could be a total let down. We do love some organic demand but from time to time it could still be worthy. At least it’s not carrying some unrealistic $7.99 price tag.
STRONG AND FREE! Don’t miss this momentous event as legendary creators CHRIS CLAREMONT and BILL SIENKIEWICZ reunite with Magik, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Cypher, Mirage, Karma, and Sunspot to share this never before told story of the New Mutants’ past!
When Warlock experiences a nightmare, he begins going haywire, and it’s up to his friends to save him!
But as Warlock grows more frenzied, they should be worrying about being able to save themselves…and doubly so when Magik’s inner demon, Darkchylde, threatens to break free! Also, a special guest appearance by none other than Kitty Pryde! Rated T+
New untold story by Claremont with Sienkiewicz on art equals a likely successful book as I can see the longtime fans seeking this one out. It’s a definite pick up to check out for fans of the creators and New Mutants.

Sienkiewicz on interiors has me excited for that issue as he is my favorite artist. I’m also digging the Zaffino cover for King Thor.
Yeah, Sienkiewicz interiors one can’t go wrong.
