Being a speculator, you have to stay ahead of the game and know what is coming out next week, and the immediate few future weeks. But it does not hurt to know what is coming out in the next couple of months. Here is a look at new books coming out in November and December and may be worth keeping on the radar.

The Diamond Comics Advanced Reorder List can give key insight into what is hot or going to be hot. It’s the list of what is most reordered by retailers before final order cut off and before the books ship. These books could be #2 issues coming off a hot selling #1, and event book, what customers are jazzed about coming into the store, or what retailers are hearing and selling based on what is going on in store or on blogs and message boards.

I have been off for the Columbus day holiday this past weekend and spent some time with the family. Didn’t get to do much of my weekend writing so I am trying to catch up. I was not in New York this weekend but kept up on the news coming out of NYCC. The news I was most excited to hear is that Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman’s seminal work, Miracle Man would be returning to print and Neil Gaiman would finally be finishing his story line. Got a good tip from Larry from Larry’s Comics about a book I have mentioned a couple of times, Uncanny X-Men #13 which features a blue skinned, red haired, clawed Wolverine looking guy. Larry has long been the king of speculation, he used to write the speculation bible, ‘Larry’s Comics Market Report’ every week for quite a while. As of yesterday, The Other Dead #1 has officially sold out. This is IDW’s zombie animal book, that was a really good read. We had spotlighted this book previously as there were a couple of things of interest with it. First, there was the Obama Variant cover, holding guns (one of which I am sure would be considered an assault weapon.) Two, it was supposed to come out on September 11th, but customs held it to “spray for moths.” Three, Kevin Eastman of ‘Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles’ fame did a subscription variant cover featuring, of all things, turtles.

The Diamond Comics Advanced reorder list is a speculator’s hand book. It gives what comics have been reordered in advanced of final order cut off. These books are ones that had a first issue that did well, have hype behind them, are getting blog and message board coverage, or are getting chatted about in the shops. For whatever reason, these are the books to keep an eye out for.
