Poyo’s Spec and Drek for May 20th, 2020
Welcome to my own weekly spec which includes my weekly drek picks. I pick what I think will be winners, not only if you make money by flipping but winners as in either a great read or just awesome art.
Then there’s the pesky drek, the comic you should avoid altogether or not fall into the buying every variant trap.
It’s been almost exactly 2 months now since we had a normal release week for comics.
Mel V.’s Easel Of Elevation ON CHU
What up CHU? Its been a long time, and I miss y’all. Mel V. here and I definitely been on a writing hiatus, but I’m back like that dude from Camp Crystal Lake. I was thinking to myself, “what can I do too scratch my creative itch during this Covid mess?” Hmmm, why not bring the “Easel of Elevation” to the world and to the spot where I started, Anthony gave me my first start. I gotta be honest this wont be a daily, weekly, or even a monthly segment, but when I do make one it will be here . Continue reading “Mel V.’s Easel Of Elevation ON CHU”

Alana’s Weekend Specs: Pinching Pennies
Aloha CHUniverse and welcome back to weekend specs! I got to say everything is big money these days and unless you’re rich like Poyo and can vacation in Maui you probably have trouble affording a lot of keys in the current comic market. In times like these you have to be way ahead of the curve and get in early, before the hordes of online comic news warriors do and prices chug up. So we’re going to save some money this week by pulling out the old crystal ball and spec the future, let’s jump in! Continue reading “Alana’s Weekend Specs: Pinching Pennies”
Poyo’s Trade and Hardcover Picks of the Week
We shouldn’t just collect or flip books, we should also read them. A good story can make your purchase well worth the money spent if you ask me. After all, we buy books to read for entertainment right? Even if you can’t flip them, reading is just as rewarding.

It’s been a while since the last FOC highlight pick, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shutting down all the non-essentials. So it’s refreshing to see a more valid FOC list for this coming Monday to get back in the groove again for these updates on CHU.
FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering.

It Eats What Feeds It #1 – Advanced Sneak Peek Preview
Scout Comics apparently was busy during this lockdown, still pumping out a lot of new titles that really have grabbed my attention.
It Eats What Feeds it is one of those new titles hitting shelves in June and here’s a sneak peek preview. I dove into this title with zero anticipation and ended up really enjoying it, being an advanced review copy of the entire 3 issue mini-series. I really enjoyed the interior artwork as well.
