One To Watch: Grindhouse: Drive In and Bleed Out #8 (possibly NSFW)

grindhouse 8

Ok folks here is an odd one. Grindhouse: Drive In and Bleed Out #8. Not a book that I would normally spotlight. I enjoyed the campy (Alex de Campi at that) series. This was the last issue. There are a couple of reasons to look at grabbing a copy.

Kickstarter Comic: Blast Furnace Recreational Thief

blast furnace

Love God Hates Astronauts? Hate God Hates Astronauts, either way, this comic is for you, or at least Ryan Browne says so. Blast Furnace is a 280 page graphic novel by GHA artist and writer Ryan Browne, but with rules:

Blast Furnace is an improvisational comic written and drawn an hour per page with zero planning and no idea where the story is going to go. Behold, a full color collection spanning all 280 pages of stream o’ consciousness lunacy!

Nightmare on Elm Street Creator Wes Craven Dead at 76

Everything you love eventually comes to an end. Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street creator, Wes Craven, has passed away at age 76. Nightmare on Elm Street was my first foray into horror (of course followed by Friday the 13th) and turned me into a young horror fan.

Marvel Collectors Corp August Unboxing

Thanks to Comicsheatingup.net‘s own Louie M. and Toyboxone.com’s Tyson B. for the Marvel Collector’s Corp unboxing information.

Secret Wars August Box

Despite several past disappointments from Loot Crate and others, I remain a sucker for nerdy mystery boxes. Guess it’s the fun of getting that unknown box in the mail plus it’s fun to divvy up the goods with your kids. Marvel’s marketing focused on being “100% exclusive” and “no fluff”. I went all in with the Founder’s subscription of 6 boxes over 1 year which includes an exclusive bonus anniversary figure that Funko promises to be epic. We Can Never Go Home to return in 2016

The cool thing about doing the site and meeting creators is they tell you things in advance of them happening. The down side is sometimes the things they tell you are off the record and you cannot print. This was the case. Matthew Rosenberg mentioned back on the 8/8/14 signing that We Can never Go Home would be back in 2016 and it would be an ongoing.

Now it is official as he changed his Twitter account with the following picture.
