A recap of Baltimore Comic Con from Larry of Larry’s Comics
I headed down to Baltimore last weekend to split a 10’x20′ corner booth with a couple of my New England pals Chris’ Comics & Comix Explosion.
We were delightful fellows to work with & had excellent prices
I enjoyed moderate sales at my booth which I would describe as organized chaos of modern material & minor keys. The general consensus that I got from vendors was that the doubling of the show square footage & additional dealers was resulting in a weaker sales environment than last year. The Spec of Baltimore Comic Con
The great thing about Baltimore Comic Con is the ton of dealers selling comics. Dealers brought thousands of comics, Golden Age to Modern, with hopes of moving inventory. Diamond Comics Advance Reorder List for 9/7/24
The Diamond Comics Advanced Reorder List is a great speculator tool. It shows what books the retailers are going back and ordering before the final order cut off. These are the hot new series everyone is talking about, the reprints of recent sold out books (gives you a cue to what to search for in your LCS), the second issues to a recent hot book, or just what people are coming in asking about. Baltimore Comic Con 2014 Wrap up
CHU hit Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. It was a whirlwind event. It is truly a comic con as it does not have a ton of old TV and movie actors, pro wrestlers, former Playboy Playmates, or other “celebrities”. Instead, they have comics, thousands of comics, from tons of dealers. They do have toys and other pop culture accessories, but Baltimore is about the comics. Cosplay roundup: Comicsheatingup.net invades Baltimore Comic Con
CHU finally invaded Baltimore comic con for day 2. Baltimore to me is a true comic con. Hundreds of dealers actually selling comic related stuff. But it also brings out the cosplayers. I tried to get snaps of some of my favorites.

Dwayne Johnson Tweets he will be Black Adam
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who ha previously tweeted he was in talks with DC to be in a movie, and later did an interview where he dropped the hint “just say the word”, has now confirmed he will be playing Black Adam in a live action Shazam Movie. Face Value #1 Bona fide hit of the week
We mentioned Face Value #1 here back on 8/27/14. The story features an autistic hero, a first in comics. The book sold out quickly as it had a low print run and ended up on NBC news. As a comic book historian I love keeping track of stats.
So I thought it would be interesting to keep a solid log of every single comic that goes up in value.
This calendar is a log of every comic that suddenly becomes hotter and jumps in value with an actual date.
This list should be continually updated and I hope others will add any comics that I may have missed.
Over a period of time we can look for trends and make interesting comparisons
