Scout Comics & Entertainment has had a spectacular past few months in both the comic book and entertainment worlds. We’ve announced a new corporate restructure this past October, along with multiple TV/Film deals and new series that will be hitting stores in 2019 and beyond.
Unfortunately, today’s announcement regards a more serious matter. We regret to inform everyone that our hit series, STABBITY BUNNY, has been put on hiatus due to the serious health problems of writer/creator Richard Rivera. As a result, Scout plans to cancel and re-solicit Stabbity Bunny issues #9 through #12 once they are fully completed by Richard and his team. Shazam #1 is in stores tomorrow. Just in time for the movie coming out next year, and featuring story by Geoff Johns, Shazam gets his own series again. Shazam has always centered around family. Especially the Marvel family. Billy Batson, and orphan, has surrounded himself with a makeshift family including Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., and several others. But Billy, an orphan who was living on the streets when he discovered the wizard, has only ever had his foster family.

Back in Batman #38, Tom King introduced Matthew, a character who seemed like he was building up to be the Anti-Batman. We coined that phrase back when the Original Spoiler Post came out. (Now people use it as a selling point for the issue.) We never really got to see Matthew as the Anti-Batman, but King swore we would not see the end of it. DC has been knocking them out of the park with their Minimum Trade Dress B Covers. These B covers are cover price variants by big name artists. Joshua Middleton as been really swinging for the fences with covers on several different books. His newest one, Batgirl #30 is another winner. Greetings my Comics Heating Up family. It is that time again, time for the Hidden Gems. Time to make money with comic books. But before we do that. Allow me to share a few thoughts. Netflix and Millarworld announced their third comic book collaboration, SHARKEY THE BOUNTY HUNTER, from writer and creator Mark Millar. Millar has named comic book artist Simone Bianchi to bring SHARKEY to life on the printed page. This is the third Millarworld franchise since Mark Millar joined Netflix on staff, following the best-selling THE MAGIC ORDER and the upcoming PRODIGY, which is set to be released on December 5. SHARKEY THE BOUNTY HUNTER will be available from Image Comics in comic book stores and online on February 20th, 2019.
