Agent Poyo’s picks of the week for delivery 10/21/15

Last week I spent way too much money. The winner was Straightjacket #1 from Amigo Press which I almost picked but I knew Anthony was going to pick it due to his love of horror. On a side note, Straightjacket #2 is already selling for $12. So what’s it going to be this week? Which one is the winner? That’s the sheer fun of spec’ing, you never know and it can be the one you never thought was going to be in high demand. Continue reading “Agent Poyo’s picks of the week for delivery 10/21/15”

NYCC 2015: Interview with Outcast’s Paul Azaceta

Thanks to STEVEN BISCOTTI at Whatchareading for the interview.

Friday, during a busy afternoon at New York Comic Con, What’cha Reading had the opportunity to speak with Paul Azaceta, the popular artist behind the unsettling visuals of Robert Kirkman’s latest title – Outcast. The already year old comic by Skybound and Image is soon to be a television series on Cinemax; its only added to the intensity of fandom that the New Jersey based and Cadence Comic Art represented artist has encountered. So, on this crowded and more attended than SDCC event, we found Paul Azaceta at the Skybound booth and spoke to him about everything from his experience at this year’s New York Comic Con, to the visual development and approach to his work, and just how you could obtain one of his original pieces of art. Big Things Come in Low Print Runs

Hey, CHU, it’s DrunkWooky. Wondering if the Paper Girls’ one weakness is a butane lighter.  That’s one way to make a #1 heat up.

If you’re a CHU reader, you probably have heard some contributors talk about low print runs. We care because, obviously, if something heats up and has a print run in the low thousands, that can mean huge value increases. Most of the time this is an advanced prediction. Notwithstanding retailer exclusives where tiny print runs are part of the advertised allure of collectability, we usually don’t know actual numbers until after the fact.

Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix

A while back, at Baltimore Comic Con, someone I know who seems to be in the know asked me to start looking around for high grade copies of the original Moon Knight #1 (1980). He said he would pay me a premium if I grabbed some. Now I know why. Comic Book.com is reporting that Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix. Continue reading “Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix”
