Savage Dragon Moves to Canada in Savage Dragon #227
There was a lot of talk of people moving to Canada, especially celebrities, if Donald Trump won the election. Trump won, no one moved up north (or that I have heard.) But Eric Larson is sending his Savage Dragon out of Chicago and up to the Great White North in Savage Dragon #227. Continue reading “Savage Dragon Moves to Canada in Savage Dragon #227”
One Year Later: Spec Review for 8/31/16
What up CHU!?! Shawn B., the One Year Later Investigator, back with another One Year Later round up, where we take a look at some of the comics that Anthony, Mel and Poyo specced on one year ago. Their specs turn out to be quick flips, slow burns, straight up misses, straight up winners and on and on. Sometimes they spec with their hearts out of their passion for comics. Sometimes they spec based on data. And sometimes they spec based off the word on the street. Either way, all their specs appeal to a few or many collectors whether it is due to them having similar taste in writing or art, or just an opportunity for a collector to flip a book and make money to “support their habit”. So, this is our weekly chance to look back at how some of our buys from a year ago are doing today. Continue reading “One Year Later: Spec Review for 8/31/16”
Drunk Wooky's Variant Envy: Mace Windu #2 Adi Granov "Meet or Exceed" variant
Hey Chu, Drunk Wooky back with another great Star Wars book to drool over. This one could be difficult to find, depending on your shop, because it is one of the “meet or exceed” variants that many retailers have been upset about. It’s a good one though. Very classic, and by Adi Granov. Continue reading “Drunk Wooky's Variant Envy: Mace Windu #2 Adi Granov "Meet or Exceed" variant”

Spoilers: Spider-Gwen #23. There is a Gwenom Inside (Sort of)
A lot of people have been asking when Gwenom would hit. Another site, we won’t mention their name, ok it rhymes with Bleeding Stool, had mentioned based on the incorrect Amazon posting for Spider-Gwen Vol. 4 Predators she would be appearing around issue #23. Well, they are sort of right. I have been saying for a while, and Jason Latour had backed it up with his tweets, that Gwenom would appear in Issue #25. In fact, the solicitation says, “GWENOM Part 1 Gwen’s life irrevocably changes as she bonds with her universe’s version of the Venom symbiote.” (But be on the look out for a cameo in Spider-Gwen #24). I digress, needless to say, we do get a Black Costume Spider-Gwen as well as a (not sure it can be called an appearance) of Gwenom in Spider-Gwen #23. Spider-Gwen #23is in stores tomorrow. As always, spoiler images are obscured behind the spoiler tag, the accompanying text is not. Click the images for the spoiled images.

Poyo's Picks for August 30th, 2017
AKA: Poyo’s Washed Out Picks for August 30th, 2017
It’s been raining non-stop for almost 3 days now. Hurricane Harvey made crispy central Texas very wet and soggy. I’ll take it though, probably won’t see any more rain after this for another 3 months or so.
Now let’s hope my local shops didn’t get flooded out and I can pick up the picks I make here cause we all know my picks are the best picks. I just wanted to see how many times I could say picks in one sentence before it started to get weird. This week is small, being the 5th Wednesday of the month as well but I think there are still a few potential winners. Continue reading “Poyo's Picks for August 30th, 2017”
