Big Things Come in Low Print Runs

Hey, CHU, it’s DrunkWooky. Wondering if the Paper Girls’ one weakness is a butane lighter.  That’s one way to make a #1 heat up.

If you’re a CHU reader, you probably have heard some contributors talk about low print runs. We care because, obviously, if something heats up and has a print run in the low thousands, that can mean huge value increases. Most of the time this is an advanced prediction. Notwithstanding retailer exclusives where tiny print runs are part of the advertised allure of collectability, we usually don’t know actual numbers until after the fact.

Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix

A while back, at Baltimore Comic Con, someone I know who seems to be in the know asked me to start looking around for high grade copies of the original Moon Knight #1 (1980). He said he would pay me a premium if I grabbed some. Now I know why. Comic Book.com is reporting that Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix. Continue reading “Moon Knight may be coming to Netflix”

Double Take’s Z-Men optioned as movie

We mentioned the Kickstarter early on. We had the books as the pick of the week a few weeks ago, now we can say that Double Take’s Z-Men has been optioned for a movie. Z-Men takes place in the Night of the Living Dead Universe (it is public domain material) and loosely based on the original films. If you got the set of all ten comics you would have seen some pretty closely related scenes.

The Bill Jemas spearheaded comic (and comic universe) has been optioned by Lionsgate for a feature film. Continue reading “Double Take’s Z-Men optioned as movie”

Todd McFarlane Live Draws Batman at NYCC 2015

One of the coolest things for me coming out of New York Comic Con this year was hanging out in the McFarlane booth when Todd would stop by. He is really a man of the people and likes to pop in the booth unannounced for things. He stopped in on Saturday to do drawing tutorials. This is where I ended up with this awesome piece of original McFarlane art:
