Dark Days The Casting #1 is out tomorrow.
It gets into some pretty heavy back story of the DC Universe, more on that shortly, however, looks like Scott Snyder, James Tynion, and Jim Lee may have thrown a nod to, and acknowledged Alan Moore as a creator of the DC Universe by casting him as an immortal in Dark Days The Casting #1. Variant Envy: Dark Nights: Metal #1 by Francesco Mattina
The comic collective of The Comic Mint, Sad Lemon, 7ate9, Amorphous Ink, and Golden Apple are proud to present our variant for DC’s Dark Nights: Metal #1 by Francesco Mattina. Mattina produced a painting of Batman and The Joker that is impressive even for his lengthy resume, but the team was also delighted to see his prowess with a pencil, so much so that we have decided it needs to be shared with the fans in its purest form. In addition to the dressed and virgin version of the painted cover, we will be offering a sketch set with a virgin as well. Continue reading “Variant Envy: Dark Nights: Metal #1 by Francesco Mattina”

A copy of Star Trek #25 is up on eBay for $15,000. Continue reading “Offbeat Auction: Star Trek #25”

One Year Later Spec Review for 7/6/16
By Shawn B. the One Year Later Investigator
What up CHUbaccas!?! Shawn B. back with another One Year Later round up, where we take a look at some of the comics that Anthony, Mel and Poyo specced on one year ago. Their specs turn out to be quick flips, slow burns, straight up misses, straight up winners and on and on. Sometimes they spec with their hearts out of their passion for comics. Sometimes they spec based on data. And sometimes they spec based off the word on the street. Either way, all their specs appeal to a few or many collectors whether it is due to them having similar taste in writing or art, or just an opportunity for a collector to flip a book and make money to “support their habit”. So, this is our weekly chance to look back at how some of our buys from a year ago are doing today. Very tough week for the guys!
Mel was on a beach somewhere this week last year and did not make any picks……..how dare he!!! Good news is we get a first appearance here from DrunkWooky. And by the way I will be on a beach somewhere next week. I will still try and get one of these out but no promises. Continue reading “One Year Later Spec Review for 7/6/16”
