Agent Poyo's Picks of the Week for delivery 5/6/15

I survived FCBD by going camping instead, leave the trip planning to the women and you too will miss FCBD. Regardless, camping was a blast. The only other person who cared was my 6 year old daughter who was sad she was going to miss Star Wars day (she thinks FCBD is Star Wars Day cause one of the shops has almost nothing but Star Wars cosplayers there), so very cute. Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for delivery 4/29/15

Wednesday, the best day. This week is going to be fun. It’s also FCBD 2015 this coming Saturday.. I’ll be camping though this weekend. Do not let the women (wife and the other women going as well) plan the weekend camping trip, you’ll miss the important stuff if you do. I’m missing FCBD.. one of the other guys is missing the Manny/Mayweather fight on Saturday.. we should just plan really long wood gathering hikes. 😉
On with the picks..

Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for delivery 4/22/15

Sadly the Poyo family experienced a loss in the family this week. This weeks picks are dedicated to my 6 year old daughters beloved Dwarf Hamster named Charmie (short for Charmander of Pokemon fame) who decided to return to the stars this week.. may he rest in peace.
On with the picks.. Continue reading “Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for delivery 4/22/15”

Poyo's Picks on Tax Day 2015 (April 15, 2015)

It’s tax day.. err.. new comic book day, the best day of the week. For those that owe taxes, my sympathies go out to you as I know you’d rather spend that hard earned cash buying more comic books. For those that got returns, splurge a little and buy more than you usually buy this Wednesday.
Anyways, this weeks picks are slim.. nothing really stands out as a spec hit but you know how this game goes, anything could surprise us by the end of the day or week…
Here’s my own picks this week though, mostly what I think will be good reads or just must haves…

Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for 3/25/15

Spring break is over. Spring has started… and it’s another Wednesday, the best day of the week. So what’s the chicken picking this week? Well, maybe we’ll have another surprise like TMNT last week.. the sleepers are always fun and make this hobby of collecting and flipping that much more exciting.
So let’s get to it:
Disney Kingdoms Big Thunder Mountain Railroad #1 (Marvel) – Expect a lower print run than most Marvel titles while also attracting those hardcore Disney fanatics like Figment attracted could raise the value of this comic soon but possibly later. Pick one up, it’s a cheap gamble especially if you can find the variants at cover.
Walking Dead #139 (Image) – Yeah, one article would only show the cover because they said almost every pane was a spoiler. What’s the spoiler? Do we learn more about Michonne’s whereabouts? We know the covers don’t always tell us what’s going on in the exact book but lately they have, what’s up with Rick staring at a boat which appears to be the ocean? Have they been sending out messengers to distant places or are messengers reaching Rick and company?
Darth Vader #3 (Marvel) – It’s already sold out at most major online stores which is unusual for a Marvel book with a likely high print run but it’s the first appearance of a new character, possibly a major character named Aphra. Pick up some extra copies if you can, could pay off later if this character becomes a force to reckon with.

It’s spring break and Poyo is stuck at home with kid duty, trying to get things done while keeping the rascals entertained, which he might not survive, but in case he doesn’t, here’s the picks of the week (a bunch this week): Continue reading “Agent Poyo's picks of the week for delivery 3/18/15”

Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for 3/11/15

Not a huge week. Nothing really stands out as being a potential quick flip but here’s a few picks of the week, if they heat up or perhaps just a good read. Here goes…

Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for 3/4/15

Another week, another round of new comics. Last week was crazy, with Spider-Gwen hitting the shelves, comic delays in Austin and other areas, it threw off my whole Wednesday routine.

I heard this week might see delays in my area again, but at least this week isn’t as big as the last few weeks in trying to secure some comics and the few hot variants that were coming out.
So let’s get down to it, what the heck does Poyo think is going to be good this week:

Agent Poyo's Picks of the week for 2/25/15

The Giblet Gravy Spec of the Week:
Spider-Gwen #1 (Marvel) – Duh! Buy them, buy the variants. Sell them to all the Gwemaniacs!
The Bloody Wing Mid Section Noteworthy Pick:
Fantastic Four #643 (Marvel) – Yes, like Anthony stated, things are going to happen. Expect Sleepwalker doing his thing, whatever his thing is. Who knows, he might play a larger role in this Secret Wars so pay close attention. These were likely a higher print since #642 was a nice sleeper but yes, expect this to be overshadows by Gwen.
The Drumstick Drumroll Honorable Mentions of the Week:
Suiciders #1 – Vertigo – From Lee Bermejo, this is L.A. in a future brutal post apocalyptic age. Where killing is entertainment. Sounds sort of like the 80’s movie “The Running Man” where they kill prisoners in a public execution game show. Could have potential if the story and art hold up.

Agent Poyo's picks of the week for 2/18/15

This week is a given for the speculated comic. Next week will be even bigger but for now, let’s take it one week at a time.

Yes, I’m a warrior chicken who is a collector first, then a flipper

his own business with no inside information to any of the comic books
being released each week. I give you these picks of the week only
knowing what you know or can find on the new releases from any online
