Here we go again, Image’s new release Coyote’s is going back for a second printing. We all know this drill, it seems all their latest and greatest are hot commodity. But nevertheless, it’s going back for another printing. Plus Midtown listed signed copies by Sean Lewis & Caitlin Yarsky at cover price.

CHU favorite Justin Jordan has a new book coming out just in time for Valentine’s Day, 2018. Justin is teaming up with Donal DeLay, Omar Estévez and Rachel Deering to bring a humorous twist on everyone’s favorite holiday, right?

Artist Esad Ribić brings us a new Sci-Fi series this February being published by Image Comics. I’m a big fan of Esad, getting my first taste on his work with Jason Aaron on Thor: God of Thunder from Marvel. That was one of the best Marvel story arc’s ever and Esad’s art is amazing.

So the comments seemed to have stopped coming in for the giveaway, so that’s a good sign we should pick some winners for the Eric Powell signed books from MondoCon 2017.

MondoCon was great this year. Lots of great art, great guests. The panels I attended were interesting with good insight on upcoming Mondo toys and what goes on in the minds of the comic book creators but now, it’s time to move on though, to the best day of the week, new comic book day.

Here’s a little treat I hope everyone enjoys. I managed to catch the second half of Francesco Francavilla finishing the commission piece I asked of him at Mondocon 2017.

You know what’s better than attending cons? Giving away signed books from such cons (It’s the inner Santa Claus in me, I love giving stuff away). I was so excited when I learned that Eric Powell was going to be at Mondo Con this year so I loaded up a bunch of books for him to sign. Now you all, the readers get a chance at some of these by doing one thing, commenting with your name.

There’s nothing better than having a good con right in your own backyard. A month after getting back from NYCC I find myself at the more intimate Mondo Con in Austin Texas, a convention for the movie poster business but has expanded to toys, vinyl, comics and everything else most comic fans enjoy. This post will primarily focus on the comics side of things.

Halloween has arrived and so has new comic Wednesday. For me, this is really another uneventful week for new books. There might be a few surprise spec’s or winners but for the most part, even if there are, I don’t expect them to last long.
This week is so boring, I don’t really see a reason to even rush out to my shop when it opens like I usually do to score some cover price variants.

Anyone who bothers redeeming their Marvel digital codes to read the books they pick up on their digital devices might be up for a little surprise when they go to redeem their Punisher Platoon #1 book.

Halloween is upon us. The Walking Dead Season 8 starting back up with the All Out War story line has me started in comparing the books with the show. We also get blessed with some new Stranger Things episodes with Season 2 coming out on Netflix. The Simpsons Halloween special was awesome this past Sunday as well. This is just a great time a year for entertainment.

Every Wednesday of each week comes a new comic book day, if you weren’t already aware. If you weren’t, what are you doing here? This new comic book day we comic nerds rejoice and spend our hard earned cash on books we need, don’t need and hope to possibly flip so we can buy more books.

Midtown has next week (October 18th, 2017) comics listed and they have one up at cover priced and signed.

NYCC is now in the not so distant past. It was a blast hanging out with Anthony and Tyson from ToyBoxOne. I went for the comics but made more money flipping toys. Maybe I should start focusing on toys rather than comic books, eh?
Now that I’m all rested up (but swamped with daily life, work and now get to uber the kids around as the wife started work on a really cool show, so I’ll be seeing her maybe next July as the shows shooting supposedly runs through June of next year).. let’s get on with the picks this week. NYCC was great this year. One of the perks of the convention is seeing all the incredible talent going into cosplay costumes. So here’s some of the ones I was able to snap pictures of on the last day when I had more time to tool around.

At least one Watchmen will be returning to DC comics soon enough. Check out below for the spoiler: Continue reading “NYCC 2017 DC's Doomsday Clock Panel: Watchmen Sighting”
AgentPoyo here with some Walking Dead #175 news coming out of NYCC 2017, a day late (sorry, I was busy) but nonetheless, still newsworthy.
A new story arc that sets the new precedence of where things are likely heading in the Walking Dead universe.
Coming out of Image Press Release news is another ongoing series from Gerry Duggan and artist David O’Sullivan called Analog.
This could be a scary reality one day for us humans. When security of the internet falls apart, expect really bad things to happen.
