Blind Adam's Hidden Gems Vol. 64

Greetings to my Comics Heating Up and Awesomesauce families. I would like to say thank you for reading this each and every week.  As always thank you for the friendship, encouragement, advice, and support. I love being a part of this and it is the greatest blessing in my life.
I finished the school for the blind. Now it is time to launch awesomesauce comics as a kick a$$ retail establishment. But, one day at a time for that. Details to come. Dark Night Metal#3 & Detective Comics #966 were the reads of the week. The Falcon #1 was decent. Arrow Season Six is off to a great start. Riverdale Season Two was #awesomesauce.  That Last Jedi trailer was the bomb.
Now lets make some money with some comics because you can’t teach that. Continue reading “Blind Adam's Hidden Gems Vol. 64”

Alana's Weekend Specs : Obscure X-Men Villains

Aloha CHUniverse and welcome back to Weekend Specs! Still on vacation but have the Weekend Specs as promised. With the new show Gifted on FOX, oddball X-villains and X-Men could have a new breathe of life. So this week I would like to cover some random X-Men villains that I haven’t covered before. Also we have the return of Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow to tv this week. Nothing new for the Arrowverse spec wise that hasn’t been written up before but we did get a Reign and a Thinker cameo. Let’s jump in!

Writer W. Maxwell Prince (ONE WEEK IN THE LIBRARY, The Electric Sublime) teams up with artist Martín Morazzo (SNOWFALL, GREAT PACIFIC, The Electric Sublime) and colorist Chris O’Halloran (GENERATION GONE, Black Panther) for ICE CREAM MAN, a genre-defying series of disparate one-shots arriving this January. One Year Later: Spec Review for 10/12/16

What up CHU!?! Shawn B., the One Year Later Investigator,  back with another One Year Later round up, where we take a look at some of the comics that Anthony, Mel and Poyo specced on one year ago. Their specs turn out to be quick flips, slow burns, straight up misses, straight up winners and on and on. Sometimes they spec with their hearts out of their passion for comics. Sometimes they spec based on data. And sometimes they spec based off the word on the street. Either way, all their specs appeal to a few or many collectors whether it is due to them having similar taste in writing or art, or just an opportunity for a collector to flip a book and make money to “support their habit”. So, this is our weekly chance to look back at how some of our buys from a year ago are doing today. Continue reading “One Year Later: Spec Review for 10/12/16”

NYCC Image Comics Announcement: INFIDEL

Bestselling writer and former Vertigo editor Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Aaron Campbell give horror a new name in the forthcoming INFIDEL set to launch from Image Comics this March 2018.
Rife with political undertones, the new series will explore Islamophobia through a haunting and chilling story about one American Muslim woman and her multi-ethnic neighbors who move into a building haunted by creatures that feed on xenophobia.  Continue reading “NYCC Image Comics Announcement: INFIDEL”

NYCC Day 3 Wrap Up

Saturday was a more chill day. I had the chance to do less running around and spend more time actually getting to see the sites and sounds of not only NYCC but New York City as well. Poyo insists on eating well while on tour. Tyson B. is more like me and likes chill food (Hooters on time Square was nixed by Poyo, but we did see Keenan from Keenan and Peele at the restaurant we went to tonight.)
Here is my wrap up for day three. Poyo should be working on the Cos-Play gallery tonight or tomorrow.  Continue reading “NYCC Day 3 Wrap Up”
