DC Comics has done some pretty cool things with cover priced variants. They started out with lenticular covers a few years back. The repeated it a little while later. They launched their B cover program with big name artists, which they later made the trade dress smaller to make them more like virgin variants. If you have seen the preview of the cover for Cosmic Ghost Rider #3 (shown to the left), you have seen Cable, a mash-up of Groot and Rocket, a female Captain America, and a very Juggernaut suited duck on the cover. Of course the solicitation gives us a key to what could be up, simply, “COSMIC GHOST RIDER VS. THE FUTURE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY FOR THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSE!”. Infinity Wars Prime #1 is in stores tomorrow, and is the most insanely cool first issue of an event book I have ever seen. We get the first full appearance of Requiem (who people are speculating is an existing character) we also get a major death and (what looks like) the destruction of something that has been at the core of the Marvel Universe. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has been one of the most entertaining reads coming out from Marvel, for me, for a while. I blame Mel for turning me on to this book. It has also been a pretty consistent spec pic. A few of the recent issues have popped up in value and have been great quick flips. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #33 seems to be one people may be chasing come Wednesday. It features a new character that might be of interest.
