Comics and Graphic Novel Sales Up 5% in 2016 according to New Estimate by ICv2 and Comichron
The comics and graphic novel market grew 5% in 2016, according to a new joint estimate by Comichron’s John Jackson Miller and ICv2’s Milton Griepp. Total comics and graphic novel sales to consumers in the U.S. and Canada reached $1.085 billion in 2016, a $55 million increase over sales in 2015. Alana's Weekend Specs: Meet the Klyntars


Aloha CHUniverse and welcome back to Weekend Specs. Don’t let the title fool you were shoving more Venom down your throats this week. The symbiote race in Marvel comics is also known as the Klyntar race. The Klyntar’s origin has recently been revealed on the Guardians of Galaxy cartoon, Thanos brings the race to Groots home planet and conducts experiments on them creating the raging symbiotes. So this week I’m bringing you all the symbiotes I haven’t written up in the past along with a checklist for the other symbiotes we have already discussed in other Weekend Specs. Also it’s  time to get ready for Hellboy if you haven’t yet. Variant Envy: Dark Nights: Metal #1 by Francesco Mattina

The comic collective of The Comic Mint, Sad Lemon, 7ate9, Amorphous Ink, and Golden Apple are proud to present our variant for DC’s Dark Nights: Metal #1 by Francesco Mattina. Mattina produced a painting of Batman and The Joker that is impressive even for his lengthy resume, but the team was also delighted to see his prowess with a pencil, so much so that we have decided it needs to be shared with the fans in its purest form. In addition to the dressed and virgin version of the painted cover, we will be offering a sketch set with a virgin as well.
