Outer Darkness by Layman and Chan – Sneak Peak Extended Preview

A new Image book hits stands this coming Wednesday from John Layman (CHEW, Eleanor and the Egret) and artist Afu Chan. I’m a sucker for sci-fi so this one had been on my radar, not because I enjoy Layman’s writing (see my handle, I’m a big CHEW fan apparently).
Also Eleanor and the Egret was an awesome read which I highly recommend. Don’t think it got the credit it deserves.

Final Order Cut-Off in Review from Sept 10th, 2018

There were plenty in the comic flipping community that frowned upon articles that point out final order cut-off of books. Some claim this hurts comic flippers despite the information already being out there along with publishers emailing out such notices on their own books.
Last time I checked, CHU was a website for comic book flipping among the other noise we generate.
So perhaps we should revisit some of these highlighted books to see how much our highlights affected the secondary market, which I’m pretty certain made zero impact if we had mentioned the books or didn’t mention them.

From Comics to Options to our Screens – A Quick Recap of What's Likely To Come

We all know that the majority of media options result into absolutely nothing on the first go round. Think of them as place holders for production companies. They want to grab the latest and greatest in hopes it blows up with popularity. If they see a market for creating a show or movie with the option, the long process of finding a screen writer to kick things off begin and then from there it evolves into something more. Even if it makes it past the script being written, it can still vanish like a fart in the wind.

Blind Adam’s Hidden Gems Vol. 87

Greetings my Comics Heating Up family. Wow, October is almost over. Is it really time for tricks and treats already? Dear Parents, don’t be cheap and give out boxes of raisins, that is not cool. Give out real candy, good candy, like Butterfingers, Snickers or peanut butter squares. Thank you for reading this each time it goes up. Amazing Spiderman #8 and Flash #57 were awesome reads this week. Sabrina on Netflix is amazing (as is The Flash, Riverdale and The Gifted.) I hope Fox will end the Simpsons with season thirty. Now let’s make some money with some comics cause you can’t teach that. Continue reading “Blind Adam’s Hidden Gems Vol. 87”
