Secret Wars August Box
Despite several past disappointments from Loot Crate and others, I remain a sucker for nerdy mystery boxes. Guess it’s the fun of getting that unknown box in the mail plus it’s fun to divvy up the goods with your kids. Marvel’s marketing focused on being “100% exclusive” and “no fluff”. I went all in with the Founder’s subscription of 6 boxes over 1 year which includes an exclusive bonus anniversary figure that Funko promises to be epic. The cool thing about doing the site and meeting creators is they tell you things in advance of them happening. The down side is sometimes the things they tell you are off the record and you cannot print. This was the case. Matthew Rosenberg mentioned back on the 8/8/14 signing that We Can never Go Home would be back in 2016 and it would be an ongoing.
Now it is official as he changed his Twitter account with the following picture.

DC books do not sell out as often as other company’s books. This is mostly because of how they do their print runs. So when a DC book sells out it is worth noticing. Here is a list of recent DC series that have sold out and could heat up. Continue reading “Recent DC sold out books”

Due to a change in policy at Image, they started to over print comics to prevent the books from selling out and going back for reprints. They did this to allow more readers to get copies, and save on having to go back to the printers. Due to this, Image Comics now vastly overprints all new books, especially new #1’s. So now, if a book sells out its really a surprise and might be the only future big money books.
Thanks to Terry Hoknes of www.hoknescomics.com for providing a list of books out this week that are sold out (or very close to being sold out) at the Distributor Level. This does not mean you cannot walk into your store and pick these up, it means once they are gone, your store could not order any more first print copies. Continue reading “COMICS SOLD OUT AT DIAMOND THIS WEEK (or very close)”
