Think Outside the Toy Box: Walking Dead TV Series 8 Action Figures

Tyson B. writes about toys and action figures for comicsheatingup.net
walking dead
The Walking Dead TV Series 8 just went up for pre-sale today. Looks like they are back to uneven allotments in cases, short packing certain characters. One character it doesn’t look like they are backing off of is good ole Rick. Series 8 rolls out with yet another version of him. I must say though, Todd hit it out of the park with this series.

Dakoit's Free Comic Book Day Speculation Special.

So here I sit. Just about an hour after getting out from seeing Avengers Age of Ultron, and about an hour before the one store I go to has there FCBD midnight release. I was going to put up a spec list. I saw my buddy Dakoit over at Dakoit’s Comic Book Speculation blog had a great one up. So here are his picks of the weekend for FCBD:
There will be a total of 50 books for FCBD tomorrow, and while everyone’s pick may vary, here are mine, qualified with reasons. While these books are currently selling for the prices indicated below, there is a very short window to make flips. All the power to those that do, but please try keep the ‘hording itch’ to the minimum. Free Comic Book Day is supposed to a fun day, and a great way to expose kids to the joys of reading. If we are all respectful to the parents and the little ones at the store, and we can all have an awesome time! Hope you all have a great FBCD!:-) Continue reading “Dakoit's Free Comic Book Day Speculation Special.”

Wednesday One to Watch: Justice League #40

UGHHH. I had a post in pending status for Wednesday, based off a Monday conversation with Mel The Movie Guy that I though hit that didn’t. So changing it up.
Justice League #40 out (this past) Wednesday is one to look out for. I usually shy away from DC books, but this one is definitely one to keep an eye out on. Not only does it start the Darkseid War story line, but it also has the first appearance of an interesting new character. Continue reading “Wednesday One to Watch: Justice League #40”

Marvel's Agents of Shield tying up all the Wave 3 Marvel Movies?

Agents_of_SHIELD_logo
Ok here is a theory for you. This is based off clues dropped in Marvel’s Agents of Shield episode from the other night. This was forwarded to me, and it seems pretty interesting. But it does seem that Marvel is dropping some clues, and tying everything together nicely in their cinematic universe via Agents of Shield. Spider-Gwen or Silk movie coming?

$_57
Bleeding Cool had a story a few days back talking about leaked e-mails from Sony and the possibility (a reference really) to a Spider-Gwen Movie.
From the leaked e-mail-

RIP Gwen Stacy — gone but never forgotten. Can we bring her back as Spiderwoman?

Now, there are more low rumblings about the possibility of a female Spider-man related movie. Continue reading “Spider-Gwen or Silk movie coming?”

Live Action Attack on Titan trailer.

Not an Anime/Manga guy myself, but this is a powerhouse one in both Japan and the US. So it is odd for me to say but, I am actually looking forward to the Attack on Titan movie. Hopefully I can get a subbed version (even a fan subbed version) of the movie in a couple of months. If not, thankfully I have a region free dvd player and friends in Japan, so when this comes out on dvd I can get a copy.

Think Outside the Toy Box: Avengers: Age of Ultron

We might be beating a dead horse but Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to be the biggest movie of the decade. It already grossed just over $200 million this past weekend in only 55% of the international markets, and that’s not including China. That said it might be a good idea to start grabbing everything Age of Ultron.

TOP 200 HOTTEST COMICS

HotComics201504Early
It has been a little while since we have had a Top 200 list from Terry Hoknes, but it makes it’s return this evening, check it out below:
Bi-weekly column and list compiled by comics historian Terry Hoknes of www.HoknesComics.com – hoknes@hotmail.com
This chart is styled like the old classic Wizard Magazine Top 10 Hottest Comic charts that were published every month in the 1990′s.
This list is updated every 2 weeks. This list is compiled from my non-stop research of the current market. I believe these were the most demand and growing in value books this month. This list focuses on all regular edition covers. (Variants are not listed otherwise they would likely dominate the entire list due to instant high prices and calculated small print runs). If you think I have missed any hot MODERN titles/issues please let me know. Here are my picks of what I believe are the hottest comics at this very moment from all sold out releases of MODERN comics online based on back issue sales ABOVE cover price.
