Blind Adam's Hidden Gems Vol. 49

Greetings to my Comics Heating Up and Awesomesauce families. Thank you everyone for reading this each and every week. thank you for the friendship, encouragement, advice, love, and support. Having CHU is a blessing and as a result so blessed to have you all in my life. (Anthony happy birthday I hope you got some cake and cool gifts). Thank you so much for allowing me to play in your awesome and amazing sandbox.
Before we make some money with comics, I would like to offer a few thoughts on a few things. Batman #21 was one of the best DC comics in some time. Just amazing, hope the rest of the button is just as great. I am very interested to see what a DC streaming service is going to look like. I am hoping one source for everything DC kind of like the WWE Network. Guardians of the Galaxy is an awesome movie and that’s all I can say. Volume 2 is going to be just as great as Volume 1 and if say anymore it may be spoiled. Now lets make some money with some comics because you can’t teach that, testify. Picks of the Week One Year Ago Today! 4/27/16

What up you CHUligans? Hope everyone had a good week. I finally had time to go to my lcs and pick up my pulls from the last 6 weeks……that was a cheap trip. Man, it is crazy how many Image books these days are immediately going up in value and I am really looking forward to seeing where they stand a year later. Anyone read Plastic yet? WOW…. that was weird……and yet I can’t wait for #2 to come out. I knew that I had a warped taste in stories but I may have found a new level.
I’ll keep the intro short this week and get right to it! Tougher week for the guys. Out of the 100’s of issues released One Year Ago Today, very few held strong for a year. Continue reading “Picks of the Week One Year Ago Today! 4/27/16”

This has been floating around for several days now, and has been mentioned before in the comments, but still thought it was worth bringing up.

Poyo's Picks for April 26th, 2017

It’s the time again, where we run off to the local comic shops to give them all our hard earned cash in hopes of picking up some more preciousness’s. Yes, that’s a word, I think. They used it in LOTR so I’m gonna say it’s an actual word because that’s what our comics are, precious.
So what’s in store for us this week? We got some better DC books hitting the shelves, a new Batman Shadow series. The Button storyline continues in Flash. Another Fabian Rangel book hits shelves, something I spec’d on a long time ago in my Indie Spotlight.. which I need to set aside some time in doing, I promised these more often and I’ve been slacking. I’m sorry.. (not really, but that’s okay, I really don’t.. ).
I’m gonna start the picks now, if that’s okay with you all? Continue reading “Poyo's Picks for April 26th, 2017”

Alana's Weekend Specs: Bronze Beauties

Hey fellow CHU’ers, Welcome back to Weekend Specs!! This week I want to go over a couple of Big Bang for your Buck Bronze Beauties that are nothing new to the spec world but may be your last chance to get in on a good deal. Through my time collecting comics, and  I fondly remember when I first started going to the comic store in the 80’s, and collecting Golden age was all the rage for comic book spec’s, only to see the Silver age emerge and take over in the 90’s. Now in 2017, and  I know you have all heard it before, Bronze is the new Silver age. Some Bronze keys have already started hitting their stride in the last 7 years Hulk #181, Werewolf by Night #32, Amazing Spider-Man #129, House of Secrets #92, Batman #232, Iron Man #55, etc. I could go on and on. But surprisingly a couple uber important Bronze Age keys are still cheap and affordable but this window is about to close. Your time to target them is now if you don’t already own them. Also a couple of other tv news and dollar bin specs to go with the already heard of Bronze Age books I’m going to gush about below. Let’s jump in!!!! Continue reading “Alana's Weekend Specs: Bronze Beauties”
